$33k base for the S? Man, you have to REALLY want a mini to pay that. That is $2k more than a GTI with way less power.

I am truly happy for this. It’s literally the only thing keeping automakers fromburing window controls 3 menus deep on the damned touchscreen.
It looks like a nice place to sit, and sounds like a nice car to drive, but I need to see some 0-60 numbers to see how peppy this things actually is.
Those GOD DAMN ALIENS!!!! Maybe they will come back with the recipe for radar transparent black boxes.
Older people like bent rims and ridiculous tire prices? Because that’s exactly what they’re in for on Midwest roads.
Yes. Yes he was.
I'm soon to be 70. I'll likely be dead by then. But kayaking might be fun.
Why not just get an Elantra N? Same price new as a lightly used RS.
You can learn it quick. I bought a 1987 Fiero GT once and my dad had to drive it home because I didn’t know how to drive stick yet. I learned
The good Governor also breathlessly held a press conference to proclaim that he had decided to build a two billon dollar arena for the nearby NBA and NHL teams, with state financial guarantees, but without checking with the actual state financiers in the legislature. To which Senate Finance and Appropriations…
My 16 year old learned in an afternoon. You can, too.
So basically the governor is saying “yeah I don’t like the law that passed, so I’m going to ignore it and be a dictator instead” and the court will likely let that happen... because they lean the same direction?
Sounds just right to me too.
Same here my friend. I’ve been here since before brefass scotch, Jalopnik Gold, and the GTFAC explosion. It’s been wild to see everything just disappear.

Replacing the haptic crap on the steering wheel with physical buttons seems doable, and VW has already said “Yeah, we made a mistake with all of that.” We’ll see what they actually do. Creating HVAC controls seems hard, and that might be a showstopper for me. Lane keeping by default is probably already one.
I don’t think they’ll move the screen, but putting physical buttons back on the steering wheel seems doable. If the HVAC is run through the screen then that would be much harder to shift to a knob, and might be a showstopper for me. As it is I think they left a lot of Mk8 money on the table - there were a lot of…
Who are these people who get so excited by new shades of grey? Are they the same people who gave us 2000 shades of white?
I strongly prefer the Mk7 Golfs to the Mk8s. Physical buttons, analog dials, and a suitably-sized screen that knows it belongs in the center stack instead of pretending to be a MacBook Pro open for a Zoom session. An elegant “R” or “GTI” badge down on the left of the hatch, where history requires it. I’m going to have…
