Indeed, if I were in their position, I’d take the job back (you know they will probably take advantage of the situation and try to hire back at lower salaries too) and then spend the majority of my time looking for another job.

Yeah, and on that, Musk is showing what an idiot he is a second time in this one incident. Fire them all because you’re mad at their boss, then rehire them. Those workers are going to be pissed. He’ll be lucky if all they do is industrial espionage.
It’s usually not a big deal to find a good job in the bay area, unless you’re under pressure of losing an H1B they can probably survive on severance or stock sales of RSUs.
This market however is horrible right now because of so many layoffs.
That's why we've got to make an economy that doesn't trade people's lives for the whims of a rich person.
The hacked up interior makes it a no go. 110 octane tune also makes it a no-go. I know of one place in the county you can buy 110, and my county is larger than most eastern seaboard states.
Honestly, Hyundai/Kia is in the same area-ish. If I were Hyundai, I would swoop in and hire most of them. They’re already eating Tesla’s lunch this year with the ioniq 5 and EV9 so they might as well get the best of Tesla for a song.
There’s also the bit where Tesla, like most tech companies, has a bunch of people on H1-B visas - for those folks, the visa is tied to that particular job with that particular employer. Which is a bigger issue, as there’s a fair bit of exploitation stemming from that system. But would explain why a bunch of people on…
Plenty of build out by other companies. There’s Ioonna, which has the backing of BMW, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes, and Stellantis. British Petroleum also announced last week their intent of purchasing either completed or now cancelled Telsa supercharger sites for their own network.
Humans do that. I see humans the go wrong way on a one-way every week. That’s no over exaggeration. I saw one 38 hours ago.
It pisses me off that every time that incident in mentioned on Jalopnik, the writers constantly leave out the fact that Cruise tried to cover up the incident and deliberately misled investigators. It’s never mentioned in the articles.
I don’t even want to think how slow that must have been. I had a 1980 Pontiac Sunbird with the Iron Duke and it was sloooooooooooow. And that’s going to be much lighter than a Camaro.
Haha yep! My job duties include annual meetings with manufacturers, including GM. When we were meeting with them in 2014 - they had a preproduction Camaro prominently on display and one of the platforms engineers who was showing the car to us proudly exclaimed “and this is the FIRST Camaro with a 4 cylinder engine!” to…
Beat me to it. 2.5 liter Iron Duke powered “Sport Coupe” for the win! 90 freaking horsepower with a 3-speed slushbox.
In this video, Sandy Munro, an openly huge supporter, passive friend, and investor in Musk’s ventures (we’ll get into that later), tries to make the argument that firing a 500+ person team due to a management disagreement on the crown jewel of Tesla that is its charging services division, makes sense and that not only…
the cop’s dashcam video is up on the idiotsincars subreddit. the cop passes a big family with young children about fifteen seconds before the collision.
It’s a good thing I have no feelings whatsoever for most modern super cars, since clearly none of them will be around for Cars and Coffees in 2045.
you assume he tried to brake! They are inherently not agile at hi speed so a high side if he abruptly changes direction is the result. Braking and not traveling as fast would have changed the outcome but clearly he’s trying to get away.
It’s been a while since I rode, but on the older ones I did ride, the factory brakes seemed fine for the ATV’s intended use case, i.e., going a lot slower than this on offroad trails. Yeah, you can easily hit the posted speed limit on a secondary road like this one, but if you’re a dumbass and forget that you’re not…
I hate this vehicle (and its Escalade cousin) with every fibre of my being. They may be great for road tripping, but in the suburban neighbourhoods where they live they’re a total goddamn menace. They take up way too much room and drivers can’t see kids in front of them. In two or three years they rattle and squeak…
My buddy sent a pic of this in our chat last night, if I was a teenager I would have been excited but now as an adult I could care less about exotic cars like this.
