Some people still want cars, like me.

I’m not going to bother fact checking because we all know EV’s from Mexico would never make it into the US because The Wall** is so high and strong that EV’s could never make it past.

Dude, you don’t have time to post here!

The rest of GM’s EV patent portfolio:

I’m super confused with this:

Anyone who says, ‘I’ll never buy a Tesla because of Elon” and also says, ‘I’ll consider a Chinese EV’ is 100% hypocrite.

You’ve got a lot of quick statements, but I don’t understand your point.

Yeah it’s pretty crazy. My high school teachers in Alabama definitely didn’t whitewash the Civil War as anything but a secession that was 100% over slavery, but many students came into class (and continued to hold opinions) about some nebulous (and honorable) concept of “States Rights” that was, in their minds,

It’s always good to understand other peoples perspectives, even if they are wrong. It helps to humanize them. I think ignoring the ‘some stuff’, as you put it, is just a quick way of closing doors and shutting down conversations. I also think the Daughters of the Confederacy documentary is a fascinating part of

Despite the high redline, I’d guess most of these engines will average <1 RPM over their existence, with less than 1000 miles on their odometers.

Overall, I think this is an ideal combination for the Cybertruck. You buy one of these trucks to get attention and be slightly controversial (vs. a Rivian or Ford), so the wrap is definitely going to help with this.

Maybe they will come to appreciate those freedoms when they realize they elected a psychopath

Supreme Court justices should be held to the maximum standard of accountability. Obviously, the are not, but the should be. This isn’t just some chump in Congress that comes and goes in a few years or an executive appointment waiting to return to a high paying industry job.

All results from our drag race have 1-foot rollout removed per drag-racing convention

I (sorta) feel for the guy put in charge of this division — he’s got to report to Musk and deal with a bunch of PISSED employees!  He’s probably got a $300k/year salary plus double that in stock, so I don’t feel *that* bad.

There’s no A/C either -- this is simply a drag race car to run at the local strip.

The Good:

True, I wonder if the tariff offsets from Volvo apply at the Geely level, or just the Volvo level. They might rather use an offset to import a Lotus or Polestar rather than getting a low-profit EX30 thru the door. (Maybe offsets are based on $ and not # cars, though?)

I’m surprised Tesla would give them 1 month more ‘severance’ than what is legally required by the CA WARN Act (60 days).

I didn’t know Hyundai/Kia were out in Silicon Valley.  I’ve definitely seen Daimler and Toyota Research Institute, but they are more on the autonomy / human factors / advanced tech side vs. things like car design an charger network stuff.
