It’s just more efficient to put electricity directly into batteries rather than using it to produce hydrogen, build out a hydrogen distribution network, deal with hydrogen leakage, etc.

The Polestar2 and C40 aren’t the same size or shape, but I bet they do share significant drivetrain components.

+1 Anyone who is advocating hydrogen fuel cells over EV is either an industry shill or completely uninformed.

At least the S60 also has tons of dealers, and the drivetrain is used across the entire Volvo lineup so they’ll be making parts for ages. (That being said, I really wonder about the reliability ‘Recharge’ drivetrain with it’s crazy-complex hybrid+turbo+supercharged setup.)

The weird corporate entity that is Geely / Volvo / Polestar is likely now realizing they would have been much better off if this Polestar 2 was sold by Volvo as something like an S60-electric.

These seats remind me of Frontier seats, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see where the seat pitch ends up.

It would be nice to live in a world without crazy people, but if you’re a celebrity who tries your best to maximize your fame and popularity to the tune of $1B, you’ve got to expect this kind of thing.

Southwest, motivated by the Spirit of profit is approaching a new Frontier of uncomfortable and pain-inducing seats!

The Max has serious design flaws (that have maybe been corrected) and construction quality issues that are just being discovered. The Max8 has killed 100's of people. The Max9 has threatened 100's more with stupid stuff like loose bolts. There are reasons to be scared of Boeing products.

Can we just start calling these Texas Donks and be done with it? It is basically a donk with those hideous wheels. The only difference is that the Toyota needs a much better paint job to be a desirable done.

correction:  I know BYD is a huge brand, I was trying to say that it is UNKNOWN to the average US consumer.

A0 class vehicle = wheelbase between 2.2 and 2.3m

Yeah I bet the market for the >$70K Overtrail editions and the “I need a 3rd row for my kid’s friends once a year” doesn’t really have much overlap.

Nice. Now I just want to see a picture like the 2nd, but with the top down and the driver wearing ski goggles.

Those are actually a bad choice for a young driver unless you are *just* worried about being able to run over curbs without damage. They have pretty bad rear seat safety (for friends) and are generally worse at rollover versus just about anything else. They also get horrible MPG, which is a factor in the NYC area

It’s only “very cheap” if you find an independent mechanic who you trust and is willing to give you a good deal.  Try maintaining that car at a dealership or a high-profile german car repair shop and you’ll be paying *way* more than you would for a Camry or Accord.

She is getting way more attention out of this now that it’s posted on national websites than they ever would in a carpool lane. Maybe she agreed to split the proceeds with the school if they made a big fuss over it?

I agree the Z4 looks better than the Supra. Too bad the MT isn’t available on the base model — I doubt they’ll get many sales at ~$75K

It’s not just about some dumb white guy who has lived an insular life. Politicians and corporations prey on people’s ignorance, fear, and hatred. Just the same as Kim Jong Un, various Iranian Ayatollahs, Nazis, and Putin, Republicans and MAGAs find it much easier to whip up fear and hatred of The Foreigner or The Drag
