It’s the same 2.0T that is used in the Jeep Wrangler, among other things, so I suspect the 4-cylinder Alpha isn’t too bad for reliability.

The vast majority of Apple employees are retail workers who are helping people buy iphones. This type of Apple job do not require the training or manual labor of auto manufacturing.

I feel like every single person who writes this bullshit does NOT actually use public transportation.

Trump will have a YUGE ramp, the biggest you’ve ever seen.  He’ll get up on that wall faster than Usain Bolt.  You’ll see.  YUGE!

I wonder if the increasing EV numbers are still predicted to push oil demand way down. I think we would all love to see gas prices drop due to lower demand, and for the countries (and corporations) that make money pumping oil to take a big hit.  It’s hard to see any downside to Russia and various Middle Eastern royal

Sorry, I made it up because it just fit so well :)

On the first day of Trump’s 2nd term, he will stand on top of the Texas Border Wall (that Mexico completed in 2021) and simultaneously end all pro-EV policies while forcing all UAW employees to go back to work under any terms dictated by their corporate masters.

Sounds like a good dinner party to me.

My grandfather retired from GM with a pension that kept paying out a stipend and medical benefits to my grandmother for >20 years after he died. It was an *amazing* benefit and I’m happy they had that benefit. Unfortunately, between benefits like those and GM’s general decades of crappy quality, it put GM out of

Lol — I know many people who hike around / photograph bears and moose with *no guns* and are just fine. So I’d say that even living near bears is still not an excuse to carry a gun. It’s legal, but it just makes you look like some kind of half-crazy person with a violence/murder fetish.

Interesting — i wonder if the ‘flash’ was mainly overriding the tenancy of automatics to maximize fuel economy by going to the top gear ASAP.

Any parent taking a newborn on vacation in Curaçao from Amsterdam needs to have their parenting license revoked.

The macho roar of cross-plane crankshaft ICE as the car blasts down the highway is infinitely preferable to the quiet whirr of an EV as the car whooshes down the highway.

that’s what the market wants for the most part.

Awesome. Next you should try out a Fuel Cell Charger. Those use to exist several years ago, but I’m not so sure you can find one now.

I drive a 2019 Bolt and have rented several (GMC, Cadillac, Chevrolet) recently. I’ve never seen any issue related to streaming from *wired* Carplay. The biggest pain in the ass I’ve had with GM is a loaner 2023 Silverado that was difficult getting into Carplay mode because it was still in “Dealership Demo Mode” and

Didn’t it use the exact same drivetrain as the large Chrysler sedans (i.e. Dodge Intrepid)? Nothing special about it or the ‘fuzzy logic’ controller that wasn’t available in the family sedan, right?  Fuzzy logic was a hyped up buzz word back in the 1990's, so I’m always really wary that anything using that phrase was

I’m on board with this guy getting a Miata, but he really needs to go as far as he can from Land Rover / Range Rover — sometimes opposites go well together, and help you appreciate the two extremes. So, I propose a Smart fortwo electic:

“Cool Exhaust” in many luxury autos is so filled with idiotic farts and pops that are as annoying as hell, especially to bystanders. If they want the equivalent amount of annoyance from “cool lights” then they better be stuck on high-beam half the time, and occasionally flash red/blue to freak out people driving in

Somehow a 2.oT with 237hp doesn’t seem like a Cadillac-worthy engine. Sure, I understand that BMW and MB offer similar 4-cylinders (so do Honda, Kia, etc.), but it’s just too damn close to something like the supercharged 2.0 I4 that was available in the Cobalt SS about 18(!!) years ago.
