You have to pay an extra $15K for that feature.  Just buy a normal Tesla and it’ll be fine.

Ever damaged a wheel? I hate the 35-series tires on my wife’s SUV. I understand they might actually be doing something useful on your car, unlike my wife’s volvo -- lol.

damn lost the 1st image:

It would be an interesting article to write about went wrong with this Thunderbird. At one level, it’s a 2-door, V8-powered coupe / convertible with a well recognized name. Unfortunately, Ford failed really badly on the price/performance and retro design of this car.

Honestly, this may be the best looking Masonry vehicle I’ve had the misfortune of viewing. I was expecting a fuschia and green interior after seeing the exterior in basically a single tacky, but not too unusual, color.

Remember, Mercedes Benz current Level 3 is defined as something like: driving on a highway between 0 and 35 mph on a perfectly clear day between 11 am and 1pm, and within a 12 - 34 meter distance of an MB approved “follow-me” vehicle with a biodiesel fuel system!

True, but they still seem to use bright pink in lots of promo photos.  No surprise, these cars are just not marketed to me! :)

These statements actually work together — there are plenty of *people* who can work on airline jobs, but the companies are saving money by either not hiring, or not offering competitive wages.

Adding this picture of the 2022 model as a reference for the gaudiness:

The article starts by praising MB’s history of being first-to-market with some key automotive technology. Unfortunately, this technology leadership firmly in MB’s rear-view mirror. This car breaks no new ground. I’m sure it’s ridiculously fast and and extremely nice place to sit, but it’s also pretty damn gaudy

Is the BMW X1 still the same vehicle as the Mini Countryman?

they’re probably the better choice for a car that’s unlikely likely to see significant track time anyway

Farewell retro Beetle, welcome retro Scout. No one wants a retro econobox anymore, but they’ll pay double or triple the price of the Beetle for a boxy, rugged-looking electric CUV that’s the same size.

Do you routinely drive over 8-10" obstacles that do not shred your tires? I’d guess any tall obstacles would have to be packed dirt and/or smooth rocks, or you would have to do a jeep-style rock crawl to get through. At that point it could easily be faster to park and walk. (I doubt a modern pickup would do too well

Yeah I think Infiniti is going to have a harder time than Cadillac has to reverse their negative reputation.

Yeah my wife gets some motion sickness, but never when she drives. I think when you’re in control & feel the motion in response to what you’re doing then it’s (much) less likely to bother you.

re: motion sickness

Was that a black-and-white image at the top? No, just the depressing lack of colors ordered by every crap auto dealer across the country.

I haven’t looked at Truecar in a few years, so I had to double check that it was still *just* a website.

The amount of venture capital money to startups between 2020 and early 2022 was astounding. Now it’s all gone, and the business plan of “I can prototype a really cool looking $150K+ sedan” does not get you very far.
