OK I understand better now.

Cathay is an airline from Hong Kong. Hong Kong is a part of China. This was a domestic Chinese flight. Why the hell were they speaking English to begin with? It’s like the next time I fly SFO to BOS on United and the flight staff want me to speak Chinese with them just to test me, or something?

I’ve never heard someone be so negative on the transmission in this car. Biggest complaint I read is the 2-3 spacing isn’t great, but never read that it was “reallyx3 sucked”. 😀

BMW designers got their hands slapped for the past few buck teeth / pig snout designs, so they switched to the only other design mode they know:  boring.

I really hope Maybach starts selling those ‘opera gloves’ so that high income large-animal veterinarians can do body cavity searches on cows in style.

you even quoted the key phrase: foreign built

And Geely might just be able to bring Lynk over to these shores one day, current headwinds aside. It’s been able to maintain Volvo’s presence in the States, after all.

Destroying property is an evil thing to do — it’s amazing how much $$$$$$ damage a single person can do with so little effort.

I still don’t quite understand something with pricing on EV’s. According to cruchbase, these guys have raised < £1M, but are still able to build this EV. I’ll pay a subscription (or per-ride fee) for a taxi, no matter who drives the car.

This was always a nice design, but it never really looked anything like a BMW.  It’s a bit of a cross between a Miata and a Jaguar.

What is going on here!!? Did BMW lay off their entire design team? Where are the huge buck teeth?

This is the correct answer. If the guy wanted a daily driver, then a LC or Cayman would be great. This guy wants to look cool and specifically mentioned British Roadster. He should not be getting the Lexus, Porsche, or Corvette that every other retired dentist/lawyer/etc buys.

On the day that the Cybertruck was announced, I think it would have sold well. Tesla & Elon had a pretty good reputation, and people wanted to be seen in a tesla — they were status symbols.

How are the maintenance costs and reliability: is this a lease-only type car? I remember the initial reviews of the Quadrifoglio said it was pretty amazing but broke down *a lot*.

Someone’s got to wipe down the mahogany and apply expensive conditioner to the whale testicle skin bar stools.
