Maybe this is a way to shutdown a redundant brand: spin it off to investors, pull in some $$$ with the IPO. The brand goes bankrupt with a load of debt after a few years and the entire dealership network gets shutdown ‘for free’.

So, basically, what you’re saying is that you would be fine with a minivan except for once every 3 years when you’ve got a trailer that’s over 3500 lbs? 😁

A Toyota exec saw the Tesla yoke and thought, “awesome we need one!!” (This exec hasn’t driven himself in ~5 years since Toyota started paying for his daily limo service.) Since automotive timelines are so long, they finally finished the Lexo-yoke and now some exec is getting his pet project shown to the world

Fender car stereo, where the head unit is carved from a solid block of Alder wood, just like an electric guitar! LOL

Re: VW spin-offs

Bose is just a semi-premium brand logo that gets applied to car audio system. Bose will design to just about any price point according to the OEM’s spec. I’d assume the original spec for an expensive Porsche would have a decent audio system.

As far as sound quality goes, it’s excellent. I was pretty underwhelmed by the Bose stereo when I bought my car back in November. Now it sounds awesome, with tons of bass and a clear midrange and treble. With some upgraded speakers, it’d be incredible.

As long as many low-skilled jobs are effectively competing with near-slave-labor in Asian countries, it will take a *ton* of intelligent government regulation to get to livable wages. I don’t see that happening in the US...

So now, a 5mph impact to the front corner of vehicle will now cost you >$5000 in repairs? I remember people claiming the “1st gen” Thor’s Hammer headlights were expensive to replace, so this will be crazy.

But isn’t this the literal definition of whataboutism: bringing up a completely different topic as a distraction from the current topic as a way to derail the debate? i.e. SUVs are Bad, right? Yeah probably, but what about meat!

While I appreciate the offer to voluntarily resign with a small bonus versus a mandatory layoff, I agree this is 100% about propping up the stock price by following other major industries who are cutting expenses by eliminating highly paid employees.

0-60 in the 6 second range for a $90K EV is a bit surprising. Sure, it’s reasonably fast, but it seems pretty uncompetitive. The iX 50 is around 5.0 seconds, right?

AMERICANS PEOPLE ARE FUCKING GREEDY

A “real” Lambo with the same engine as a $90K Audi soccer mom-car?! Makes me sad.   (I don’t consider the Urus to be a “real” Lambo, just a cash grab to keep the brand alive.)

I think most of the ‘SUV shaming’ is for body-on-frame SUVs like the Escalade (~6000lbs). A Pacifica can be 4500, but I guess they hybrid system will bring it up to 4800. The guy goes on to say that he doesn’t blame americans for driving CUV type vehicles b/c of the ‘size wars’ of vehicles, but is generally very

Thanks for the great review. Nice pics!

If you keep listening after that Caddy example, which I agree is somewhat shoddy, he gives the example of the Escalade taxi vs. minivan to support his argument.

Whataboutism

That guy you wrote about with the CamaroCamper could turn this into an apartment-on-wheels for dozens! :)

If you want bigger, just go buy it. All these poseur-bro’s driving idiotic, decorated, oversized pickup trucks like they’re still a child on a Big Wheel... real men drive real trucks:
