I am pretty certain you’ll be able to buy this drivetrain in an Integra, too. Then you’ll (again) get to choose to pay an extra $5-10K for the minor luxury refinements and brand name.
Looks like a pretty good deal, but I sure wouldn’t want to pay to keep gas in this car! I think they got ~12mpg (??) and have 22 gallon tank! That’s $150/tank around here for <300 miles of range.
It’s ‘a year away’ but all they got to show are computer renderings. Not sure I have high confidence in that date...
Interesting, I’d never heard that before.
I understand how the first few of Warhol’s silkscreen + outline in magic marker paintings can be considered art. Most of rest of his body of work is all derivative and almost certainly created by a group of unnamed artists in a sweat shop with his signature added at the end.
I think it must be quite cheap to get an extra 100hp out of an electric motor (versus a gas engine). They already have sufficient battery to drive the motor just to get the range, so they just go with it for the extra profit margin and bragging rights.
Tesla uses power-opening charge doors, too.
I think the US-market Toyota Crown is spiritual successor for the Chrysler 200. As with many remaining sedans, they added some larger wheels, a large fender gap, and some black plastic fender trim to appeal to people who think they want a **Rugged SUV**
That’s true. They will probably never overcome the negative reputation from the “$38K Bolt”. Converting a car from a “we’ll sell it when we want to Compliance Car” to a real competitive product isn’t easy.
In the markets where the Bolt actually leased (or sold), it was always that cheap. Pre-covid GM was always running huge incentives in California to keep Bolt sales in line with CARB compliance requirements. It was pretty common to see Bolts for well <$25K after the federal tax incentive. This is when Model 3's in the…
How many years until the Z06 is available from a dealer for <$150K?
Wagon or GTFO.
But how is Porsche going to charge an extra $1000 for the driving sound designed by Rammstein or Hans Zimmer?
I’m not trying to justify all the other crap around Uber, but you have to admit that using an app to hail a taxi *is* disruptive. It’s an extremely simple concept, but unfortunately most taxi operations pre-Uber were stuck in the 1960's era when it came to dispatching cabs. NYC was even more insane with its…
Maybe we can call it Volotuso?
Hell yeah back when I lived in TX I’d shoot a hole in my laptop to reply to Jalopnik threads, most days. That learned ‘em real good.
Yes, the biker could try for the headshot (also with superhero aim), and also have an out-of-control jeep run him over. I guess the bonus prize is that the driver would also be dead. Realistically, the biker would not even have the gun in his hand and had also missed the opportunity to take evasive action away from…
Non-Bentley owners hear ‘airline-style’ seats and think of this:
There are tons of designers who draw cars or even have car-looking concepts made out of clay or other materials. This does not meant they have intent to build a vehicle — they are just being artists.
