But is it *brown*?

This x100.

Even the old eGolf with it’s 9.6 second 0-60 was fun around town. It was faster than a GTI from 0-30, so it was definitely fun where I drove. You couldn’t expect rocket-like performance merging on a highway, but I never had any issues.

Virtual sales to Jalop’s imagnary fleet perhaps, but station wagons went out of style last millennium.

No, I think that the dual motor always had shorter range b/c it was much higher performance. From what I remember, Tesla is the only vendor with longer range dual vs. single motor vehicle.

I think Geely started Polestar as a way to circumvent the Volvo dealer network and to slowly ramp production on their EV technology.  Soon we’ll see the exact same drivetrains in Volvos, and at that point I’m not sure why anyone would buy a Polestar.

The problem with the Polestar:

0-60 time for a Bolt is 6.5seconds, so the Bolt is a bit faster than the Polestar. The Polestar definitely appears like a large sedan versus the Bolt’s compact hatchback design, though.

Yeah I sure wouldn’t want to be driving a red hatchback around after this article comes out.  For that matter, I’d guess that just about any car will be a target now (if it wasn’t already).

So this upcoming Porsche will probably share the platform with the ID.4, with it’s ~109" wheelbase.... or I wonder if it’ll be closer to a Q3 in size with a tiny 105" wheelbase.

Didn’t the Model Y beat both of these to market by a good margin, or is the Model Y not considered “compact”?

...and at least 1" above the road surface.

Yep it’s not popular, but it would definitely improve fuel consumption & pedestrian safety. Pickup truck & large SUV design right now is definitely trending to be anti-pedestrian.  Who knows where fuel prices will go from here -- do we get several years at $5/gallon or just a few months?

In theory, the vehicle was crash tested in stock configuration. Why not keep it that way? I suppose the ‘victim’ of the crash usually not the priority for crash testing, but I suppose it does impact hood ornaments and some hood design features.

I’ve got a better one: ban all vehicles from highway use that move the front and rear bumpers more than 2" above the stock vehicle bumper height.

Just like he “profusely apologized” after almost killing the guy on a motorcycle while being a tool in a Lambo. He realizes that he gets more likes with a “stunt + apology” versus “stunt + be an asshole to the victim”

If you just got liability insurance on your vehicle, *your* insurance company will not help you with a claim against another driver.  They only ever “help you” with a claim because it takes money from the other party instead of themselves.

no faster than 40 mph on well marked highways

I don’t see how he could possibly get auto insurance if they can pin this Tesla jump on him.  Unfortunately ‘street racing’ in California will only suspend your license for up to 6 months.   I guess they can also pin ‘fleeing from scene of accident’ on him, assuming they can actually associate this idiot with this car.

(ID Buzz) might be the best EV we get in the States when it gets here in 2024, unless there is a cheap EV on the market then, not a strong likelihood.
