It is unfortunate that so many Americans are addicted to using cheap gas. No doubt that all of the above subsidies to the oil industry would keep oil prices a bit lower (in the future, at some point) while vastly enriching the oil companies.

Yeah at $5000 I see way too many 30-year-old volvos, VW’s, and 20+year-old 200K mile Honda/Toyotas that could be on their last 10k miles.
A friend showed this to me about 20(!!) yrs ago as a highly compressed, tiny AVI file & we thought it was hilarious. This version looks so much better *and* is still hilarious!
True, but that loaded Pacifica is probably marked up by $4-5K on the lot just like the Hondas. I posted the Honda to show that you can get a good minivan under $40K, so the near-to-$60K Pacifica isn’t a good example.***
Base ID.4 is 2WD with 0-60 of 7.9sec, range of ~250 miles.
I’ve been expecting VW to price this out of the stratosphere, since that’s the way they always priced their vans. I bet a loaded example will cost more than a $59K Model Y. It’ll have slightly more room than the Y, but way less range and performance.
Or not...
Or a whale.
But what part of the car is a GM product? I don’t think they’d ever use anything from a Dallara-designed chassis in a production car. (Is it a carbon fiber monocoque?) The drivetrain of this car is a hybrid (right?) with a racing transmission. Maybe the engine block will be a GM design, but I doubt the transmission…
Sweet. If I had excessive amounts of spare time, I’d like to learn some Chinese.
Clarification: the pills are bath salts. Take about a handful at a time, bottle is about 2x doses.
Don’t make me change my name to BritishRacingGreen!
I still don’t understand how the $M’s of money put into this project are net positive for Cadillac marketing. No one is watching a cool looking race car with a Cadillac logo and then going to buy a new Cadillac electric CUV or Escalade. Most people shopping for Cadillacs do not even know these exist.
If trucks are missing wheels or have inoperable brakes, can’t they be declared as not roadworthy and towed?
Oh I like that word: Fauxtester.
If this ‘buggy’ image file was enough to brick the radio, imagine the kind of buffer overflow attack a dedicated hacker could do. Of course, these are pretty old and so probably the biggest impact would be causing the radio to crash...
If you got some time and want to learn about crypto and NFT’s, this is a great place to start
Let’s hope they’ve upgraded since their sales in LA:
Why do almost all of the photos look like ‘uncanny valley’ quality renderings? The only thing that looks real is that little tent/fishing platform video, which I’m guessing was an MDF + fiberglass mockup?
