By the time that Tesla can build factories and design a $25K car, there may be no $25K cars for sale in the US. The cheapest Mitsubishi Mirage I can find around me is $16K. I wouldn’t be surprised to see these head up to $19,995 within a couple years due to inflation alone.

How many people do you see today commuting in an autogyro? That’s the same number you’ll see commuting in any of these eVTOLs. Putting an electric motor in one of these does very little to make it safer, and it does nothing to clear a landing / takeoff zone for you. (Not to mention the noise!!)

Wow if I was in the market for a car right now, this would be tempting. It’s got 62K miles, 6MT, $13K, and only ~50 miles away. It would be a good way to wait out the crazy car market for a year or two without getting screwed by insane pricing.

Toll roads in CA are not meant to fund upkeep of the road. They are 100% intended to keep (poor) people out of the express lanes.

I think I took a very similar trip about the same time as you. It was really convenient:  get up at 6, get off the boat ASAP, return at end of the day.  I just wish we could have spent 2x days in a couple cities rather than 1 (like Istanbul).
