This thing will accelerate fast, but I can’t believe something this size will actually be ‘fun’ to drive. It’s more of a rocket powered school bus...

I think they already ruined SuperCruise by requiring a monthly fee, right?

And somehow, this is only a little bit less weird than that old plan to deploy troops inside IBMs. Yeah. That happened.

Also, I just saw your V12 video -- I want to see how that project goes.

thanks i’ll take a look later today

In my experience, the *only* reasons to be anywhere near north Birmingham are #1 the airport, #2 I-20 to Atlanta, and #3 I-65 to Huntsville. No one would ever detour to Brookside for any reason I could think of.

Oh you found the vehicle they bring to traffic stops involving people with darker shades of skin!

That’s why I wrote, “If you’re living in a condo or apartment, unfortunately the cost is usually too high for this type of installation to happen.” in my original comment.

That looks like quite a nice garage in the picture, actually.  Seems like there are 3 cars in there with space around them.  What’s the rent on a space like that, probably $1000/month?

I just complain about the people who “need” a truck because they might need to bring home a bale of pine straw or a 20lb bag of mulch, but have been paying a landscaping company to maintain their yard for the past 10 years.  (And the trunk of an econo car would do the job just as well.)

I’d say 80-100 miles a day in winter with something like a Model3 + Level2 charging at home would be pretty easy.  If you got lots of parts, then maybe you do need a truck for cargo, though!

I guess the drag equation does have a velocity^2 term in it, after all.

Boring car paint: 6x different shades of grey ranging from white to black, plus dark blue and *maybe* red.

It’s not a bad take because there are 100K’s of trucks sold that are used as commuter appliances. It’s a fashion trend that in the Pro-column has ‘enjoys driving truck’, and in the Con-column has ‘pedestrian safety, fuel economy, and environment’.

100% agree — designers double down on this trend by almost always drawing concept cars with literal rubber band tires, with almost no rubber and *huge*, idiotic wheels.

I wonder how much of the mpg comes from the transmission gearing being setup for city driving vs. ‘pushing a brick’ at 70mph.

If you do not have long commutes, even you could get along fine with an EV in winter. You just got to charge at home. It’s not that hard, and the cost isn’t too bad for a homeowner if you can afford the $50k** for the vehicle. If you’re living in a condo or apartment, unfortunately the cost is usually too high for

that’s true, a bullet can kill more than one person in some circumstances

1x attempted murder charge per bullet, I hope.

Minimum charge: 10 counts of attempted murder.
