Dude get with the times, they don’t use the “violent rioters” excuse anymore. Right now it’s sufficient to just be close to vaccinated people to have an excuse to speed, fire a gun, etc. Vaccines carry some damned dangerous 5G computer chips! They’re coming right for us!

Thanks. That green interior is amazing.

I don’t know if I fully trust the language around the “WT”.  Maybe I should go read the actual press release.  If I was going to place a bet, I’d guess the $40K SilEVrado is going to have a battery the same capacity as the Chevy Bolt. This battery is 3x smaller than the Hummer EV (65kW vs. 200kW).

Oh wow. My first thought was: surely this guy isn’t coming from the Ember company that makes the battery-powered coffee mug from Kickstarter?!? But yes, that’s the guy.  Welcome to your new Volvo.

Wow sorry for all the insanity happening to you!  I definitely enjoy reading your work here.  Hopefully you can get some good stories out of this as a silver lining, at least.

Is there going to be a more expensive version of this car with AWD? I guess that would make sense.

I’ve always wondered if there is any route planning difference between Waze and Google Maps. Google acquired Waze back in 2013! I seriously doubt they’re using different routing algorithms or traffic density databases after 8 years.

  • I wonder why they made this a single motor system. Seems like AWD would almost be a requirement for buyers in this segment, who are going to want lots of options and especially AWD “for safety and because it might rain, or something”

Nice review! As others have stated, I also enjoy your writing style and details that are not the typically glossy magazine generic/boring-gushy-ness you’d typically get over a halo car like this. Tell the car companies you need to keep getting these trips to review all the fun cars!

I still disagree :)

Looking at photo #12, I guess Genesis has finally been able to hide the front-facing (cruise control) radar fully. No more “flat panel camoflauged with chrome stripes” in the grille.

However, the university researchers found that NOx emissions can be reduced by 20 percent with retarded injection timing.

Why are parts cheap / easy to obtain for an old car like the Valliant? Did things like the starter or water pump keep getting used on different models for decades afterwards, or did they just build way too many spares back in the 60's and 70's?

Yeah, it’s disappointing their special color is apparently some kind of beige. It’s not a Toyota, FFS.

This is the *only* way I’ve ever rotated tires, minus the blizzard.

Nice find — I’ve never seen the interior of a King Ranch, but you are correct:

I think what you’re saying is most important here. There’s nothing at all special about dead animal skin. We can synthesize better materials for a number of goals like feel, color, breathability, durability vs. cow skin.

1. Do *any* cars come with a leather surface that you *actually* sit on? Almost all real leather in cars is coated in some kind of polymer to make it durable / scratch resistant / etc. If you sit on a real, first-surface leather sofa then you will quickly get marks to due to wearing, sweat, etc. Some people like the le
