A place like Factory Five should start offering EV kits for all their cars. I see one place with a EV drivetrain for the Factory Five 818, but it’s amost $8K without a battery!!!

I **think** that this version of the 3800 V6 avoids the hydrolock problem caused by the plastic intake manifold on early 2000's version of this engine, but you should verify this somehow.
I just checked their website and the Model 3 LR (AWD, 358 miles range) is $50,990+1200(delivery) = 52,190 .
Also, I don’t agree on the Camry vs. Taurus :)
Yes that’s true -- it could be some initial concept drawings of an unfinished design.
Thanks for that writeup — nice to hear others detailed opinions since I’m in the market at as well.
IMO the 1986 Ford Taurus is way more original than this vehicle, especially within the mid-80's US domestic market. (Note I’m using the word ‘original’ and not ‘art’, here.)
That’s why >99% of all cars made do not qualify as “art”. In any case, I’m almost presenting a straw man argument here since the original article is just claiming the design is “fearless”, not that it is “art”. Is that even a compliment?
I say “not original” because it mimics 10s to 100s of other fictional post-apocalypse vehicle concepts, or non-fictional off-road concepts.
I have some issue with the theocracy part, it’s just fascism plain and simple. (The current Republican party’s relationship with Christianity is a pretty good reflection of Nazi Germany IMO: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religious_views_of_Adolf_Hitler)
I was looking at prices for a very basic dense-residential neighborhood in Cupertino yesterday. I see things going for $2000/sqft! At this price, you can afford a lot of cleanup.
I guess that Tesla’s location in Fremont is probably closer to $1000/sqft for housing, though.
Perhaps I am too practical or not in touch with the current trends in art and fashion, but I just don’t get it:
On the inside with the exhaust set to quiet mode, for sure.
I’m curious if VW had to repair any components to make it through the race. I’d guess the suspension upgrades would keep these parts from being destroyed by the rough terrain, at least.
Wow dude your colorful language shows you have absolutely no ground to stand upon for this argument but vitriol. I guess that’s the playbook for debating these days: got no facts, might as well just scream and at least half the country will believe you.
Yeah those little EV’s are a ton of fun around town. (I had an eGolf and drove a 500e a few times.) To me, it’s the low-end torque and silent drivetrain letting you “effortlessly” zoom off at every intersection.
Most Bolt’s are sold under $35K. Lots of them were going for under $25K pre-pandemic in California.
So what you’re saying is that you don’t want to keep music files on your phone? You prefer to have a flash memory slot / USB-stick input on the car?
Wow I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone evangelize biofuels so much. I thought that biofuels were basically just additional farm subsidies.
Uh, way better than you imagine if you use a malaise-era Big Three land yacht as a baseline?!? That’s ridiculous.
