This, so much. I thought for a bit that I’d missed some amazing RPG release, and got excited for the first ten seconds of the trailer...then saw the game board. You can’t ever call something like that “gritty.”

Eh, I love magic in fantasy just like I love technology in sci-fi. I just don’t enjoy when it’s lazily thrown into a fantastical setting like required window dressing with no creativity.

Apparently the person who wrote this article doesn't understand the concept of not using a mechanic that you don't like.

Wow, talk about a cool description that didn't match the final product.  You made no mention of the fact that the actual mechanics are basically a glorified board game.

Other than the dragons, and the white walkers, and the direwolves, and the giants, and pretty much everything with Melisandre.......

No. This is such a damaging narrative. Most abused people DON’T become abusers and having been abused in the past no excuse for being a shitty human being. 

She also blocked a bunch of people on Twitter who reminded her of it and tried to weasel out with some BS excuse.

Most innocent victims don’t turn around and inflict their pain on others because they don’t have it in them to make others suffer, regardless of, or especially because of what they’ve been through.  I don’t buy this excuse in the least. 

He was 17 at the time. What age is ok for you? 15? 11?

I hope the good things she has done will still carry weight with anyone who isn’t just looking to score partisan “gotcha” posts. But I’m not optimistic.

If the younger person didn’t consent, no matter how “awesome “ the older person might be , then it is some form of assault.

I am also reminded that Asia Argento was one of the people who signed that letter demanding the release of Roman Polanski when he was arrested in 2009
