Seems kinda racist... creating a fictional African nation that appears stable and noble. Why not choose a real African nation to represent as the home of the Black Panther (or other name for a militant racist group). 

Maybe if women stopped buying shit that’s pink and marketed specifically to us, it would no longer exist?

Black Panther, I would venture, isn’t perceived as a black movie, particularly overseas. As others have insinuated, it’s a Marvel movie, currently the most mainstream thing imaginable.

I mean go a few clicks over to The root and you’ll find a whole slew of racists. But they’re black so they can’t be racist. It’s OK to be racist as long as you’re not white.

As an apolitical person, this is finally a statement I can agree with.

Perhaps read a bit more history. Everyone’s ancestors are monsters who did horrible things to people whose only crime was being different. The simple fact that someone is alive today means that your ancestors won. They killed, they raped, they stole, they pillaged, they enslaved, they conquered, and they commited acts…

I certainly would not make a super-big deal over this woman for any of these Tweets. But this article really bugs me. It is dead wrong. By definition, making white jokes is racist as hell.

So you’re allowed to be racist if you don’t hold a position in a political office or fortune 500 company?

The tweets were not racist; they were jokes about white people, which is a different thing that is not racism.

Keeping in mind that I agree with the thesis statement, “The New York Times really fucked this one up”, those are some pretty nasty tweets. You really went well out of your way to cherry pick the less vile ones, to the point that it calls your objectivity on the matter into question.
