The story even quotes a possible reason, women leaving retail for better jobs. But when one’s only reaction is outrage, you get a bs story like this.

Isn’t the essential story here that men are increasingly losing the race for good jobs? Retail is low paying, entails long hours, and generally has very limited opportunity for advancement. So what am I missing?

Such a poor argument. No one is suggesting stalinism and you know it. More new deal/ great society mentality, think FDR, Lyndon Johnson.

I love using “team,” especially in work contexts.

I start emails with “All” or “team”. No need to worry about somebody being offended, unless they are offended by being part of a team, or don’t feel included enough to be included in all.

I think “people who menstruate” sounds infinitely sillier.

I think it is great that we have movies with women leading and such but it would be greater to have original movies instead of keep doing what it was already done.

I mean, I’ll try and not offend people, but in this day and age, that seems harder and harder to do these days. If I know you, then I’ll already know what to call you. If I don’t know you, then don’t get offended if I call you by a pronoun that you don’t like. It’s because I don’t know you and you’re not walking

I really can’t get hyped about this movie franchise on its 4th? 5th? sequel where all but the original were pretty....shitty. Also it took this many movies for them to decide to put women in the roles of protagonists. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad a movie is coming out with some ladies in charge, but like...do we have

I’ll use whatever the hell I want to use, what a ridiculous society to try to tip toe around hurting feelings. People need to grow up.

Here are some other gender-neutral pronouns that people might request you use:

This makes sense. Anything after he, she, or they kind of defeats the purpose of pronouns. We use pronouns as a matter of convenience, at a certain point, using names becomes infinitely easier.

No thoughtful human being would think their inclusion in this movie would be a positive thing.

Yep — I’m perfectly happy to use they/them/their, but I’m not calling anyone xe/xem/xyr. Sorry, not sorry.

No. Just, no.

They/them/their seems to work perfectly in all cases, there is no need to go looking for additional options just to complicate matters.

and at least three Kardashian/Jenners

I think I agree with Matt Damon on this. Before we can continue to punish the men in Hollywood that are sexually harassing and assaulting people, we need to take time to identify and recognize the ones that aren’t.

After that I think we should recognize the men in Hollywood that aren’t murdering people. Then we can do

Does it matter that the accusations come from “recovered memories,” which have a terrible scientific track record?

I guess being the “face’ of the movie (besides Allen) gets you the most derision. The rest of the working stiffs are just doing their jobs. I can’t blame them for needing the work to support them and their families.
