Some of the people commenting here seem fine with the idea of putting children in danger because, ‘omg no hugs!!!’
They are safe, fed and being cared for. Campaign to change the policy but be objective about the problems being faced here.

The problem with that idea is that the world is full of shitty people and if you gather a load together to go and ‘break in’ to one of these places or whatever, you cannot guarantee that everyone there is going with the best intentions. Some people would see vulnerable children, already removed from their parents, as

Aye, because refusing to engage with people who may hold differing views and opinions, never leads to echo chambers and entrenched thinking... good luck with that.

You have the same policy in a lot of organisations that work with children, especially ones without criminal checks. Heck, if you manage a team sport on the weekend, it is made very clear that you do not touch the children in any way and you are not alone with them.
ICE, whatever else you may think of them, are no

Well yeah, you should. All the hysterical hand-wringing about all those poor kids not getting hugs are meaningless when there is a legit reason for not doing that.
What would you prefer? A few kids crying and not getting a hug or the wrong sort of people working in an organisation full of the ‘wrong sort of people’

pretty sure the no-hugging policy is to ensure the kids safety, or at least protect ICE from accusations of molestation by their staff.

How about no. Why the hell should anyone have to leave the comfort of their home to get some quiet? I don’t care what race a kid is if they are shouting outside my window when I am trying to work, then I will tell them to move on.
This is getting close to the point where because every interaction with a POC is being

I have to say that this is getting a little bit ridiculous. What, you can’t tell a brat to stop shouting now without it being a race issue? There’s no evidence to suggest this woman isn’t just a bitch who would have done the same to any kid, but because she’s black it is now a race issue.
Here’s the thing, not

I, respectfully, disagree. A $30 increase will add up if you enjoy your tipple of choice enough to buy it once a month (or more.) As someone who doesn’t actually have a serious drinking problem, just a youth spent in the pubs and clubs, I have a high tolerance for booze. A bottle will last a week or two if I space it

My govt might not have, but I surely did.

I’ve tried some of the local cheap stuff and, well, let’s just say there’s a reason those bottles lasted longer than any others I have ever bought. They are the, ‘drink only after all other booze has run out, the local shop is closed and it’s too early to end the party of one that I am having.’

Price is a big part of it. I don’t tend to have a lot of sweet stuff and I spend my days drinking mainly water with a couple of coffees at the end of work. The dark cherry or the Honey flavoured Jack Daniels is sweet enough that I can sit and drink a full bottle while listening to music and relaxing after a long 80

Probably a good thing to take a break. I can drink a bottle of the dark cherry stuff a night it is so delicious, while with the more upmarket brands of single malt, I take my time and savour a little more.

I don’t think this will help avoid another crash. A trade war could see the US crash a lot harder than it did in 2008, which will affect the rest of the world too.

But if he kicked you out of his establishment because he disagreed with your politics, that would be fine, yeah?
We’re okay with the one, but not the other? just trying to get this right in my head. HArd to remember what to be outraged at these days.

Yep. Everyone complaining about ‘having’ to wear uncomfortable shit just need to grow up and choose something comfortable.

Aye, and I’m sure it feels much better to be an actual adult who chooses not to wear that stuff in the first place rather than whine about it after.

Haha, I can enjoy reading highbrow literature and still find time to fit in the guilty pleasure of a trashy novel. Liking one, doesn’t mean you can’t like the other. ;)

Hey, I’m right there with you. I will happily pay £2.75 for a four pack of Tesco’s own brand lager rather than the £5-whatever, four pack of Carlsberg or Carling, which tastes a great deal better than the Tesco crap.
If I’m so cheap as to do that then I am pretty much guaranteed to choose a cheaper whiskey when I go

I have to admit that being from the UK, I have a fondness for the local brands, but I do still like Jim Beam and Jack Daniels. Johnny Walker, not so much, but then I only tried the cheapest one.
For a small whiskey maker who exports to the EU, it will definitely kill their sales. Unless you are a serious fan of that
