They are definitely inflating it, but missing a couple of weeks due to injury or illness is different than say, a strike about pay that drags on for a number of weeks.
At that point, they are willfully stopping attending courses/ doing research. Would that not have an affect?

Sure, they could join a union but if that union decides to strike for six weeks, then those students aren’t going to be attending courses/doing research and that could actually affect their visa.
Any one in that position needs to be aware of that so they can make an informed choice.

First of all, legal immigration is a completely different beast. These people are fleeing and seeking asylum. They are saying, simply by wanting asylum, that their country is dangerous to them.

The greater the risk, the more important the fight. They have seen that they can organise 1200 people to march north, they should turn around and increase that number. Put out a rallying call for all the others in their country who want change and make it happen! Unless... of course... they just want to move somewhere…
