Having just watched Get Out today, I can’t agree with elegant and clever. It was boringly predictable at points. The main leads did a great job, but the screenplay itself isn’t worthy of an Oscar.

Those battle scenes were incredible for the time. I watched them open mouthed having not seen the like before. Up till then, the movies were often sanitized to the point of absurdity. Braveheart, for all its faults, gloried in violence of the time.

I enjoyed the original Blade Runner and I was excited to see Blade Runner 2049... I was disappointed. Ended up turning it off before the end. It just wasn’t great. I can’t understand the love it’s getting and I have been a huge sci-fi fan for more than thirty years now.

Watched Get Out today actually, after seeing all the hype about it. Couldn’t understand the love to be honest. It was okay, but way too predictable. Some great performances from the main couple. The woman especially was great, but the film was one that was okay, but not rewatchable.
