It is appalling. The Burqa is a cultural item and not a religious one. Some women may think they choose to wear it, many are forced and the majority are under pressure from their families, peers and religious leaders.
No one, is saying don’t wear a hijab which is required by the religion, but a cultural dress that

Then the conversation about why they aren’t able to leave their homes without the need for a burka needs to be had.

Children need to learn that their actions have consequences. I don’t care about the whole ridiculous patriotism argument people keep throwing out, it is simply about respect for your team. There are other ways to protest and I encourage people to do so, but this is becoming more of a spectacle now.

It’s not a recent thing. Back in ye olden times, the peasants who worked outside in the sun all day would have darker skin. The nobility, the wealthy, would only go outside for sport or leisure. They wouldn’t be spending 12 hours a day working in hot sun.
For a long time, the fairer the skin, the wealthier you were

Well, this year, I have had an endoscopy and a colonoscopy, x-ray, two ultrasounds and a physio appt along with several consultants appts... my total cost is merely what I spent on transport.
Pretty sure if I lived in the US, I’d be dead already.

Took the words right out of my mouth. What sad individuals do this?

Yeah, I know, would be nice to dream of it though. Anything that pisses off the religious nuts is always good.

I think a movement should be started to make those kind of hats an accessory to be worn in every gay bar in the country. Make them like the rainbow flag, forever linked with LGBTQ, just to piss people like him off.

The only problem is, actually joining an organisation is going against one of the tenets of satanism. It’s all about individuality and not being part of the herd... which kind of makes it hard to join together. Do love them though. If I believed in any religion, I would choose them in a heartbeat.

I do have more than a little love for the Satanic Temple. Their tenets are actually realistic and it is more than a little about respecting others. Also, I love the fact that the satanists are more welcoming and respectful than those who follow the religion of love or peace.
Won’t see many satanists blowing themselves

He does have a point. Universities are no longer the havens of learning and free thought that they used to be. Many of them, are in fact, money making machines that encourage students to take courses that will have no benefit in later life and swaddle them in cotton wool to ensure they keep paying that sweet, sweet,

Yeah, the 22k is the starting salary, band 5, if I recall the figures, was 28k. Realistically, as someone who earns a lot less than 22k as a single parent and has a daughter heading to university to train as a mental health nurse, I see 22k as a good starting point for anyone choosing that career.
If I can raise two

Yep, totally different to real life. The only time a fat slovenly guy will get an attractive wife is if he’s rich. While, there are plenty of slim, attractive men, who are more than happy to have a fat wife.

Wait! Stop the presses! A show titled ‘Kevin can Wait’ that is barely 30 mins long with adverts, focuses almost entirely on the character whose name is in the title! I am shocked! Shocked, I tell ya.

A nurse can start on £22k a year, which is not terrible in most areas other than London. Agency nurses get paid significantly more because they are drafted in on short notice. So nurses opt for the agency roles.

I couldn’t imagine having to decide how ill my child has to be before I can afford to take them to the hospital.
My daughters have been generally healthy, but have visited the hospital a few times over the past 17 years. So glad my only concern then was for their welfare and not for how much it would cost.

Too many people are invested in the current system though. The drug companies that run adverts for over the counter medicines that anyone can buy (yet would be prescribed by a dr in most other countries) and the insurance companies themselves, would lose way too much money.
It wouldn’t happen, since your country seems

The same can be said about agency nurses. They keep talking about not enough nurses and part of the reason is that if you are an Agency nurse, you get paid a lot more to fill in the gaps made by you not taking the full time nursing job.

The Tories keep playing with the idea of privatisation, but if they did try to do that to the NHS, they would be decimated as a party come election time. Labour would get in everywhere just by saying they would stop the privatisation. Heck, the Lib Dems would become the second largest party in England.

Whenever my American friends start to talk crap about the NHS, I just point out that my father had the same lung cancer as Walter White in Breaking Bad, yet didn’t need to become a major drug manufacturer to pay for his treatment...
Also worth pointing out, that I have been to the hospital a half dozen times this year
