Glad your time off was due to a need to disengage. I have a friend who goes off the grid every now and then, for months on end. She last left on March 1st, and is presumably fine, but it is weird to know that if something did happen to her, I have no idea if or when the news would actually make its way to me. Anyway, Read more

If it wasn’t an option in game mode I would be more worried about it, but hopefully that is my clue that it isn’t. Of course if it is, I may not be perceiving it!

Holy crap some early commenters are nuts if they think Steam controllers aren’t the best controller for anything that doesn’t need a dpad. They aren’t perfect, but my statement just goes to show how much everything else sucks. On a side note, I’ve been using the gyro for some Dark Souls aiming and it is just a Read more

The Motion Pro setting doesn’t effect judder and blur, and game mode doesn’t even have those options available, but motion pro still is. I think it is the same idea as ELMB where it is just displaying fewer frames; it gets the same dimmed picture effect. I remember other TVs calling something similar a Sport mode, but Read more

This has really taken me down a rabbit hole. It is funny because I only bought the monitor because it was 144hz and seems well reviewed, all these details were totally lost on me. I can proudly say now after a lot of research, I understand reducing motion blur about 5% better.

Wait, now I also realize that I was mixing up Adaptive-sync and Gsync-compatible. There are too many settings! From what I can tell my options are: Read more

Where all the items are mixed up (sometimes the dungeons too). Makes these exploration games more replayable. Even Dark Souls!

I am wondering if for Rocket League I should choose ELMB instead of gsync. My GPU has no problem producing 250 fps for RL at 1080p, and I don’t really see tearing even without vsync. My brain doesn’t tell me there is a clarity difference between the two settings, only that ELMB is much dimmer, but for the one Esport Read more

How is this not false advertising, from the ASUS product page, “It also features 1ms MPRT response time and Adaptive-Sync technology, for extremely fluid gameplay without tearing and stuttering”

Yeah I guess I had misread something, and only monitors that list ELMB-sync can do them both simultaneously. Everything looks great with just adaptive-sync. I should go play some Rocket League on Switch handheld beforehand to really appreciate it.

Thanks to randomizer runs, that commercial is accurate for some people here

I remember playing it as a dumb kid, and when I got to sent to the dark world I was like, “wow that commercial wasn’t lying.” Kids are stupid.

A got a new monitor, a VG249Q. First time I’ve had high fps and adaptive gsync. So far pretty great, although I am having one issue. Whenever I turn on ELMB to get faster response time, it turns off adaptive sync on the monitor. If I turn adaptive sync back on, ELMB turns itself back off. Hopefully I can get that Read more

I never played the original DS2, only Scholar. Maybe some of the hate is lost on those of us who never saw that version of things. Even still, it wasn’t until my second playthru that it really hooked me. I have always thought DS3 was the ideal upgrade from the gameplay of DS1, and since DS3 exists I can appreciate DS2 Read more

Is this for something along the lines of using the Bose for PC/Consoles?

Finally got someone to play some D:OS2. I just don’t have the patience to click on a bunch of town people to find out what I am supposed to do in a game anymore. Otherwise the game seems like the best chance for me to ever have a fun (fairly) traditional RPG experience in a video game again. Every button on the Read more
