@Hot Take - Rome Was Bad
exactly. I’m not going to sit here for another 20 minutes in a control mirror on a game i’ve already lost.
Ms. D’Anastasio, this is like—one of the bog-standard things of MtG, going back for forever. People who know how to play the game—and a lot of people who think they do—know whether or not they can win against a certain type of deck, a certain tempo of play, a certain set-up they have or their opponents have; and MtG:…
People just concede to not waste time if the game is already lost from their perspective. Plain and simple. It also happens in real life you know.
Knowing when to concede is probably the 2nd most important skill in magic. The first being how to mulligan properly. If you play 2 hours every day and play out every game even if it is hopeless. You will probably end up wasting 2-3 hours every week which could earn you more wins. Time is money after all.
I was about to make a similar comment. This feels like a cynical attempt to gain some good press, and move the spotlight off of their own misconduct.
Thrall effectively has no powers right now. After killing Garrosh he became depressed and guilty, he thinks the elements no longer listen to him. They do though, it’s like shaman erectile dysfunction.
This was a fantastic read, Schreier! Thanks, as always, for bringing some of the less-discussed but still important components of the industry to light!
...and I still have that Final Fantasy IX guide. My parents bought it with the copy of IX they gave me for Christmas back in 2000. Even with my undergrad college’s T1…
This is really interesting. Great interview and appreciate the behind the scenes look.
I’ve got the Tactics Ogre guide, and it looks like it would have been a beast to put together. Definitely appreciate all the hard work that went in to making it happen.
Given the coverage of Riot recently, sounds like they’re willing to demand this kind of good conduct of others but not themselves.
Am I the only one who thinks it’s hypocritical for Riot to try to take a strong stance on something doing the right and decent thing? I mean, given all the bullshit that’s gone on with Riot lawsuits and sexual harassment and discrimination?
Oh that Tellah scene in FF2/4 really messed me up. I remember thinking the game was over after that dungeon too. Blew my mind when I realized that there was a whole world beyond. To this day FF4 is hands down my favorite. Not the best but definitely where my love for Final Fantasy began.
Palom and Porom, man - that’s the one that always got me. I’d even get a little misty seeing their statues there like twenty hours later in the game.
It was spoiled for me before I played it because it’s all anyone could talk about.
Non-binary is bullshit. it’s another stupid made up group of people who are too narcissistic to be happy with just being a person. You have to invent a group so you can feel special. It’s just a girl. A decidedly well playing girl at that. Good for her.
So long as they aren’t replacing White-Cis cronyism with SJW cronyism, this is a beautiful outcome.
it mostly doesnt.
