When I went to college, my first history class was on the mistreatment of the Native American peoples (It was supposed to be a general US history course, but my professor decided to take it in a non-standard direction). I had an education that was pretty willing to criticize the US. Many of my classmates were shocked…

Interesting, because back in the ‘70s, I was taught, in Arkansas, no less, about the Dred Scott decision, the Missouri Compromise, Plessy v. Ferguson, Brown v. Board of Education, LR Central standoff. Of course, my well-educated teacher was required to slip in a bit about “States’ Rights” into the discussion.

This is an administration that has managed to politicize the Post Office, CDC/NIH and Census taking. Everything is political to them.

My fix-it guy, who is pretty shallow on politics, mentioned that “9-9-9-9" [sic] plan. So his legacy is set.

I once did a work project related to the chain of Xtian bookstores owned by the Southern Baptist Convention. Many of the employees were also ministers and it was the biggest bunch of overt racists I’ve been around. 

One of my high school friends did the “I don’t see color” bit on FB and then added, “you can ask [insert names of 5 Black classmates]”

“I don’t dislike Blacks, but I wouldn’t want my daughter to date one ... or for me to have a Black boss ... or live anywhere near Black people with their hippity hop music ... or have any blacks in my office, except for the ‘good kind’”

He’s also upset they can’t say “Negroes” in that very special way that white Southerners get a kick out of.

I do find it funny that I watched a recent BLM march near my house and the local cop was holding traffic while the marchers chanted “No good cops in a racist system” as they passed him. Surprised he didn’t just let the traffic go.
