It’s also important to know, that for the vast majority of those here illegally, there’s no way for them to come to the US legally. Our system is set up for family connection, money, employment and education. If you don’t have those, there’s not even the Green Card lottery option (for most).

The H1B program needs serious reform (as does the time to receive a Green Card if you are from certain countries), but it’s hard to know what will happen. Supposedly, the “came in legally” crowd will be okay, but it will be tough for a GOP Congress to come up with a workable plan.

It’s sad, but there’s almost a Saturday Night Live skit in there about teaching immigrants to “Speak ‘Merican.”

Except all their potential clients will soon be deported with almost no hope of legally returning to the US.

No doubt. I hope they work out a transition time on DACA recipients. At least he’ll be married to an American, so deportation will be unlikely.

And ISIS has gone on record as saying they are looking for volunteers with safe passports — French, Belgian, Spanish. All can come into the US without waivers.

I don’t think they will do anything on abortion at the national level, but will push up cases through the courts to the more open-to-their-cause SCOTUS (though the 9th justice still won’t guarantee anything more than when Scalia was around).

Yes, it does, though the court will usually have changed in the intervening years. See Brown v. Board of Education which overturned Plessy v. Ferguson.

Still not sure they would have the balls to do that. But guess it depends on what he does...

By his own party?

I’m sure he’ll install a Reagan one so that they can genuflect before they kiss Trump’s ring.

Warren’s the best option on the bench. Wasn’t ready for 2016 and Bernie’s too old for 2020 (may have been too old for 2016). She’ll have a couple of years to play obstructionist in the Senate.

2 weapons left for Democrats:

He’s figuring out how to redecorate.

I think you misread my first sentence. He is *not* going to establish a blind trust to run the businesses (at least that’s what he’s said). He will let the family run them, which is not a blind trust and doesn’t help distance him from ethics laws.

He needs his family members to go out and run the Trump businesses which will not be under a blind trust to avoid the appearance of impropriety. And he will then proceed to recommend tough ethics laws to prevent impropriety.

Are we winning yet?

More interesting stuff:

Some *actual* plans... scary, but where were these during the campaign?

When is Stein gonna be voted into an office higher than town council?
