It’s dangerous for IGDA to say yes or no to any proposal, because IGDA represents developers across the world, across studios, and across professions. Despite the best efforts of people in the comment sections here, the experiences we see in the industry vary wildly between professions, studios, and countries.

As a programmer in gaming, it’s about the unique challenges and appeal of working on an artistic endeavor. Games bring together a unique cross-section of professions on a massive scale and you get to see a creative project form from the ground up. A good portion of the studio has split off in many directions. Most of the engineering staff exited the industry, but a few of us are out there across the industry.
