Why is that a rant for another day? Why is that wrong? There reaches a certain point where the cost incurred to repair exceeds a state-mandated threshold. Why is it a problem to declare the vehicle total-lossed at that point?

That’s good to hear. Oddly enough, a very good friend of mine had a c4 vette and had the same experience vis a vis traction and trees, but his also had social lubrication involved.
