What strengths do cruisers have?

V-star owners don’t get butthurt like harley owners do. Goldwing owners kinda do, but they are their own special breed admittedly.

I keep trying to schedule an MSF course. I’m curious as to what they’re using around here. I promised my girlfriend that I’d take the course before I started riding again (it’s been a decade or so).

I used to see motorcycles that were unmistakably harleys. They were all over the place with their lopey v-twins and 600lbs of chrome. Now it’s nothing but baggers. I dont even know what H-D makes anything else. Ugh.

Oh, no, I can’t argue that the is clearly a market for it, otherwise H-D wouldn’t make them. I just think it’s silly. I think the beemer is silly at that price too.

If you’re talking silverados, yeah, no kidding. They are ludicrously expensive for no good reason. Still, the BMW k1600GTL, their version of the big touring bike, is $30k. The chevy (HD) quite literally is at BMW prices. Which one do you think performs better for the money?

My friends make “I wanna buy a harley” noises here and there and I make very clear that the sportster is the only bike I’d really consider out of HD. The rest are overpriced, over-chromed huge piles of under-performing archaic shit. The notable exception to that, the V-Rod, was loathed by the HD fanboys even though it…

But the problem is that the ‘chevy’ is coming in at mercedes pricing. $20-30k for a motorcycle kinda boggles me to begin with, but when it is a motorcycle that doesn’t blow my socks clean off with how awesome it is? Naw, son. I’ll spend way less, get way more, and enjoy more refinement.

Eh. I’ve been in a LOT of accidents. Newer cars work better than older ones, without question, but I’m not fussed up over 5-star crash ratings. Just don’t care. Odds are, I’ll get hit int he rear anyway (seven times in the past seven years, with the most recent being two weeks ago, car totalled).

I’m in my 40’s. I’ve spent my whole life driving sub-5-star vehicles. I can live with sub-5 here too.

I didn’t say I’d DD it as my sole transportation. Just that I’d drive it. Lowes, the place I’d be most likely to drive it, it less than ten minutes from my house.
