Neil Lomax to Roy Green!

I think the biggest factor in his style changing (i.e., fighting off the back foot) came from moving up in weight and his power didn’t come with him. The “one time” days are well gone and he’s refashioned himself as a boxer-puncher. Kudos to him, since (up to now) he’s been effective, if not natural looking. He was

This was a tough fight to predict, going in. Manny’s age and career winding down versus Thurman’s injury history, inactivity, and lackluster performance against Josesito Lopez. Basically too close to call. Pacquiao is obviously an all-time great, and this is just icing on the cake. For Thurman, I don’t think he ever

He was soft to the body even before the Porter fight.

This thread, when you look at the pattern/big picture, definitely makes you raise your eyebrows, at least.

Spot-fuckin’ on, Holly.

Fair enough. I don’t follow him and didn’t know this.

Good on him. Speaking truth to power.

You can always throw some Old Bay Seasoning on corn.

Barr quietly shutting down all investigations.

Right, I get that. Is it possible that Canelo is waiting to see if Kovalev wins, and then he’d fight him next (which explains canceling his standard September date)?

I dunno. Upon first (and only) watch of Canelo/GGG II, I had Canelo edging it, 7-5. But I’m a Canelo mark, so take that for what it’s worth.

Oscar was smart and pushed Canelo to wait out GGG as long as possible. Those 2-ish years were crucial in Gennady slowing down a bit. Plus, under Abel Sanchez, Golovkin had totally eschewed his body punching game in favor of headhunting. He also stopped effectively cutting off the ring.

I think Canelo is a hyper-competitive, super tough, great boxer.

Thanks for writing about boxing, Lauren. Not enough of it on the site, in my humble opinion. And now I’ll proceed to pick nits:

This apparently occurred under his purview: “...a trial detailing alleged mistreatment of boys at a state juvenile home...”

There’s a pic floating around of the senior advisor to the president, Kellyanne Conway, palling around with Epstein’s personal pilot of the “Lolita Express” from...late December 2016.

At least the mask is fully off now. Trump has galvanized many of the covert racists to just say the quiet part out loud. If there’s a silver lining to this, it’s that we (as voters) now don’t have to wonder or sift through to see who is a racist, as they now proudly assert themselves as such. We can then act/vote
