Yeh, I think there’s really only two reasons for Ryan to do this: (1) what you mentioned, with possible entanglements in dirty Russian money and/or data mining and using that to influence House/Senate campaigns; or (2) he’s distancing himself from the Trump administration in preparation for a presidential run in 2020.
