Are the police certain this isn’t terrorism? I know you young people don’t remember 9/11, but we older folks are still traumatized by that terrible day.

I generally liked Jezebel but it was never as senior-friendly as Facebook. That was Jezebel’s downfall. We seniors are the most loyal audience there is. If our traffic is down it’s only because some of us have died. Jezebel never learned that lesson.

I was a Maoist in the early 70s so I have mixed feelings about these games. Mao was a hero to lots of Boomers during the Vietnam years. Our goal was to overthrow capitalism and put something more humane in its place. Maoism seemed like the best option at the time.

Zuck is pushing this weird “metaverse” nonsense as the core of Facebook’s rebranding. Apparently he wants Facebook to be hip and youthful instead of being identified with seniors. That sounds like a big mistake to me. We seniors are Facebook’s core audience and we do NOT want a radical redesign.

The poster is weird and rude but he’s not wrong about black revolutionaries needing white allies to win. It’s a simple question of math. The Black Panther Party knew there weren’t enough black folks for a revolution and partnered with the Weathermen and other like-minded white radicals.

Essentially accurate, if indelicately phrased.

I’ve been a strong Joe Biden supporter but as a senior I’m alarmed by all this talk from Democrats of breaking up Facebook. Facebook is the only social media platform where we seniors feel welcome. What would we do without it? We’d be devastated.

I love Angela and she’ll always be a hero of mine, but it’s time for her to accept that the great gift of the Boomer generation is our ability to leave impractical dreams in the past. Why can’t she?

Angela is a personal hero and an old comrade from my revolutionary period in the 1970s. I had the honor of meeting her on several occasions and cherish the memory and always will. While I still have nothing but respect for Angela’s moral fortitude, I believe my Maoist past gives me hard-earned credibility to

It’s easy for you young socialists to condemn Trump for 100,000 American deaths, but not so easy for us boomers.

Now playing

My fellow boomer Stephen Stills said it best back in 1970:

You young progressives lack my generation’s sense of history, but the tactics behind these attacks on Joe are perfectly familiar to us revolutionaries of the 1960s and 70s.

I was afraid of this. COVID-19 will be this generation’s Vietnam.

We seniors literally risked our lives to vote for Joe in virus-ridden polling places.

Of course there are people who can make Joe exciting. They’re doing right now.

AOC’s political maturation comes as no surprise to us reformed revolutionaries of the 1960s and 70s.

I applaud your intellectual curiosity and would love to answer all your questions someday, but we ex-revolutionary boomers in my Facebook Biden support group have vowed to set aside the schismatic recriminations of the mid 1970s until Donald Trump is removed from office. It’s a necessary sacrifice.

Additionally, we

I didn’t follow the Deng Reforms. They happened in my post-revolutionary nihilist phase after Vietnam ended and I left the commune in Oregon. I was apolitical in those days and cared only about cocaine, alcohol, and disco music. I got angry if people even mentioned politics in my presence. I was a mess.

Please come back 😢

Lt Gov. Patrick is right.
