You have put into words that mysterious nauseous feeling that I get every time I see a Fiesta sedan in the wild. Suddenly I'm shivering.

That would give me a cheap electric drop top but it ignores the request for something small and lighweight since the Model 3 is gargantuan and weighs between 3600 and 4100 lbs depending on options. In contrast the decade old Roadster is 30" shorter and tilts the scales at 2900 lbs with the opportunity to go lower if…
I’ve been waiting for a reprise of the original Tesla Roadster. A very small “lightweight” electric sports car with the ability to be open to the elements and with some kind of decent price tag. Elon has said that we’re actually getting a larger hardtop coupe with a price tag of $200k so I guess I’ll look elsewhere.…
There was no test drive. I fought for 11 months to get one without ever having driven one and the one that I did end up getting required a one way plane ticket to pick up. There wasn't ever an opportunity for a pre-purchase test drive. When I got mine they had only been in the country for about two months
It’s a joke because....the funny part is....cutting all cars but SUVs and the Mustang. It’s not funny if I have to explain it.
Have you ever wished that maybe the Corvette wasn’t built by GM? Like what if it had a glorious DOHC flatplane crank engine in an SUV as built by Ford or if it had massive, glaring quality control issues and weighed 4100 lbs as built by FCA......you know what? Nevermind. This reality is just fine.
I’m publishing the story of my life (here’s part seven where I actually buy the RS: https://oppositelock.kinja.com/dsm-or-how-ruining-my-life-was-the-best-decision-that-1834014168) but since I haven’t published the part where I sell the RS, here’s a summary: it was boring. It was expensive to own and expensive to…
I’m publishing the story of my life and I’m about to get to this point, but there are tons of them around me for cheap and I think we all know why.
I had a hell of a time selling my Focus RS. It was a 2016 and I was selling it in early 2018 after 18 months of ownership. Many dealerships still had MY2016 and 2017 RSs on their lots and, especially with the recent bad press about headgasket issues and the associated recall, stock just wasn’t moving. But I didn’t…
So you’re looking at under $4,000 for the head and block castings, but that doesn’t include anything else. No rotating assembly or sensors or harnesses. No ancillaries like alternators. No cams or valves. Buying a $5000 used longblock is still going to save you a lot of money if you're starting out with no engine at…
The Arctic Cat T660 comes from the factory with a 658cc turbocharged three cylinder Suzuki K6A making triple digit power. And an off-the-shelf harness adapter gets it up over 150hp. Idk what the cost or reliability of Ken's setup is, but surely a stock turbo setup with a tune is better than an entire aftermarket turbo?
I’m posting my automotive exploits over on OppositeLock and have only just now gotten around to writing that part, but to summarize it was expensive and boring. I wanted to drive every single other car before the RS and I was paying an exorbitant amount every month to keep it around. So I dumped it for an AWD Eclipse…
1. No. I’m saying that the TT will be stuck at the bottom of the hill having been struck by a runaway crossover while the Miata has already reached its destination. I have been that Miata in your scenario more times than I can count and I’ll say it again: AWD does not help you in the snow.
The obvious unspoken point here is that a TT absolutely needs winter tires just as much as a Miata does. Or, to the point of this article, adding AWD does nothing to reduce the need for a set of winter tires for your Miata. If you can’t accelerate then you can’t decelerate or turn either, so paying thousands extra to…
I don’t see any value whatsoever in this proposal. How many people are DDing their Miata in areas that get snow? I did for two years and never once wished for AWD or more grip in general. I got a decent set of winter tires and had an absolute blast in the worst weather that we had had in years.
A few years ago he picked up an E92 M3 and gave the Integra to my mom as her winter car/”the family station wagon." I'm always sad about what could have been, especially because none of us are really impressed with the BMW.
Back in 2005 my dad was thinking about going a bit upmarket from his Integra R. He took me to the dealership and we checked out an NSX they had in their showroom. He was sitting down to talk financing but the salesman told us that, if he really wanted a performance car, we should hold off until next year because Honda…
I didn’t see that the color list scrolled on mobile and was about to go on a tirade about how one red plus greyscale does not an interesting color make. Who do they think they are, Mazda? But then I scrolled and saw the yellow and the blue.
Would it excite you to know that the Evora is a daily driver? He has a winter tire set and is in the office every day, even when the guys with lifted trucks and SUVs say that they can’t make it.
Yup. I don't post much over the winter but there will be a lot coming out this Summer. The K6A build starts this year!
