I am disgusted with myself for not getting that reference. I think I’ll go watch The Emperor’s New Groove to make up for it.

I had a different experience. Driving on the wrong side of the car was fine. Driving on the wrong side of the road was fine. Punching the door repeatedly with my right hand because there wasn’t a shifter there was by far the hardest part of driving my disgustingly large Hyundai i10.

And a Focus RS and two NA Miatas and a Ranger. I have a problem...

I intend to open a Youtube channel to document the ordering process, picking it up, impressions, and modifications. I’m sure that I’ll put something together in writing for my friends here at Jalopnik, though.

Mine will share a spot with our 500 Abarth, because yes, it fits. I’ve always wanted a truly small car (the NA Miata is quite a bit longer than it needs to be) and so I’ve been waiting for my favorite ABC car to be legal for import.

Where do you live? It sounds like there are quite a few already destined for a slow boat stateside. As long as you don’t mind wrong hand drive...

Those are probably my three favorite pictures of it. Now if only we could get a good size comparison between the AZ-1 and a tricycle...

Ironically limited to 87 mph from the factory. With the limiter removed they can hit 110, though.

The ‘Speed version has a completely revised suspension with new springrates, dampers, and sway bars. I know that they are still available and a popular upgrade option, but I don’t know about aftermarket options. I can say that the AZ-1 is McStrut and the Cappuccino is double wishbone, so there’s no interchangeability

Eh. A new turbo, injectors, and a MegaSquirt gets you from 64 crank horsepower to 120 wheel horsepower. It should have no problems here on US roads.

Completely agreed, Patrick. Mine will be here in November. Probably the longest 11 months of my life. Is it weird that I’m more excited about my AZ-1 than I was about my Focus RS? Because I am...

I had a thing for Japanese kei cars from a very early age. A very early, possibly negative age.

No. Fuck you. I waited 25 years for this. If I get my car and then they abolish this law, I will have to start mass-producing tables so that I can flip all of them!

I’m used to the pronunciation “Gimbuh” but that doesn’t sound anywhere near German enough. Maybe if I yell it.....

Well, I was wrong. Sort of. There are 3 green ones that are Blox brand. There were 12 purple ones that were also Blox brand, and there was one singular silver one that is 949Racing. I forgot exactly how much of a shitshow this car was when I bought it.

It’s hard to do the conversion between USD and NYD. $2000 for a 2 bedroom apartment? I’m paying less than a third of that for a downtown house in Indianapolis. And prior to that I was renting a two bedroom apartment that was on the expensive side at $550/month. Should I just multiply everything by 4 to get the New

Knock-offs has crossed my mind, given how absolutely terrible they were. I know that the green ones were not 949Racing because they had a knurled lip on the edge for easy finger-threading. Now I’m really interested to find that box of parts when I get home today.

The purple ones have 949Racing scripted down the side in white. I can take a picture for you if you’d like. I still have a few that escaped the trash can.

Ferrari and Volvo also use that bolt pattern, in addition to Jaguar (for obvious reasons).

My 94 Miata came with 949Racing “racing” lugnuts. 14 purple and 2 green. They were corroded pretty heavily and two of them had stripped. I bought two sets of OEM Miata lugnuts and replaced all of them after about a week of owning the car. Considering how many people I know in person that have had aluminum lug nuts and
