There will ALWAYS be stupid people who get stupid ideas. We can’t let that dictate the progress of science. If we did that, we’d still be living in caves and hoping the witch doctor would manage to make the sun rise tomorrow too

To be clear, this study is NOT saying that homosexuality is genetic. Its saying that, if you look at the gay twins of male-twin pairs, the gay ones have different chemicals attached to their DNA. Its not saying they are born with those chemicals, or saying that the DNA itself is different.

It is indeed more complicated than just genetics. This study specifically looked at identical twins where one brother was gay and the other wasn’t. The goal wasn’t to look at genes — they’re identical twins, so their genes are the same — the goal was to look at environmentally induced chemical modifications that

We shouldnt stop science research just because some people might be offended.

I would hope they do. A massively homogenous society that never disagrees about anything would be terrifying for a number of reasons. But if you’re inviting guests over you at least don’t invite your crazy, racist second cousin if you can help it.

I think the point is more in case they think “wow, they cant even get along with each other? Hide, everyone hide and don’t answer the door if they knock"

The current level of vitriol from the puppies and their pleasers on social media sounds like the conservative pleasers for anti-gay marriage. “Oh! This is proof we are being discriminated against for our intolerance.”

That lack of empathy is the source of a lot of problems. Especially in this last year there has just been an endless waterfall of actions from people who seem to posess a complete and total lack of empathy. Just ZERO ability to connect with other human beings on ANY emotional level.

A woman finds herself struggling to fight because she gets weak-kneed around other women. Okay, they have had storylines in the past where straight characters have had had issues with the opposite sex.

It’s been something else to watch the fallout from the fan translations. People have gotten really nasty with one another, and it’s kind of disheartening. The way I see it is: you’re perfectly within your right not to feel affected by this. As a queer person, this doesn’t ‘offend’ me in that it seems like the standard
