@diagorus: They didn't write a new engine. It used much of the old code architecture, but still presents as a whole new game with much to enjoy. Stop feeling betrayed and live a little... Support a good gaming company. They deserve it!

Wow... That's incredible! I really don't like "locked door syndrome". I see this as a stepping stone to one day having AI tenants living and playing in these locations. Imagine walking into an apartment and seeing random social interractions. That would be coolness!

@Chicken Pawks: Well put. I bought a 12 mo. Live card last year on Amazon for $25, as best I can remember. I was wondering then if MS was testing their price point. I'm sure they watch consumer reaction to these types of promotions... They may even drive these promos. Competition is good!

I like getting the physical disc so I can share or trade in later. It's a matter of principal for me. I would have to be pretty desperate before buying a full game at such steep prices instead of just waiting to find a copy in the bin at Gamestop for less.

The fact that PSN is free and MS still charges $50/yr subscription seems to me an indication that Xbox Live still rules the roost. What do you think?

Wow. The images shown here are far more vivid on the 360 in my opinion. I don't understand why the PS3 versions always look washed out in these comparisons. Interestingly, the PS3 console is jet black, but their games have none... Whereas, the 360 Elite console is faux black but has gobs of black in their games...…
