Ah yes, the other side of things where cab drivers and such are usually more in danger from other people because they have to interact with just so many people that they don’t know.

You mean paying more to those who are likely to also drive for Lyft, to keep them from moving.
This whole “Uber drivers are employees” thing is just ridiculous. You can drive for Lyft in the same hour that you drive for Uber... Or just stop and start whenever. What job lets you do that?
There are tons of people working on self driving so Uber doesn’t really need to solve it themselves.
Over time, all jobs vanish. There was a time when there were no taxis. There will be a time when there are no Ubers (or none driven by people anyway)
It’s obviously not all going to customers. They are doing tons of research (self driving cars, drone taxis that fly...), they also have to adapt their systems to the needs of different markets - like they do Uber rickshaws in some countries.
It’s because the Uber product is well liked, while taxis are universally despised.
So this is debatable, although I only have SF to go by.
LOL, but it’s true. Attractive women tend to have no personalities (most of the time).
Plus, you have to consider that for a business / tech hub like SF, people being able to move around faster and conduct more business is just plain important to the economy.
The thing with SF is that public transport is a complete trainwreck, so Uber and Lyft are the missing public transport...
It seems that pushing the accelerator pedal fully down shouldn’t disable collision avoidance.. unless the car is set to an “unsafe” mode.
