I think it's some kind of performance art piece. There's no other explanation, really.

This is a pretty conventional show, but damn if I didn't blow through the whole series yesterday. Really a fun soap opera, pretty people, and great music! I recommend it, if the premise looks at all interesting to you.

"...Ms. Sulkowicz did not press criminal charges, a lengthy process that she said would be too draining.."

Yeah, I don't know all the details about where and when; maybe this episode is showing the start of a trend. A couple of years ago I read a very interesting paper online about foot binding where the author interviewed some very old women who had bound feet in the 30s and 40s just at the tail end before the communists

I'm actually enjoying this series quite a bit despite its faults. I'm not finding it dull. Marco is pretty clueless so far, but I assume that's part of his learning curve that we're supposed to empathize with. I could have done without the foot binding. Yuck! That said I think the lens through which this show is

I re-watched GWTW in September, and my first thought on exiting was that it really should be played in a triple feature with Django Unchained and 12 Years a Slave. I'd seen it before when I was much younger, and I wasn't nearly as grossed out as I should have been then. I think I'm much more critical of the racism AND

I've heard that Macy is the nicest ever.

He hasn't aged well (drinking/smoking), but he was GORGEOUS when he was younger.

A little too much gender stereotyping here (although there is some overlap). Won't it be ANY better in 20 years??

It's not exactly incest since they aren't related. How is this any different from Clueless, for example?

They're filming a movie version of this book as as we speak. The author plays a librarian in a cameo. The mom is played by Maria Bello. And the older girl is played by the girl from the book thief. I'm optimistic.

I just bought these Dansko Lulus. I can't even with high heels.

I'm also going to say Kentucky Fried Movie (that we snuck into the theater for after watching something else to save $; that's the kind of dad I have). But my parents were extremely permissive, so it could easily have been something earlier.

I gave up on intruders after 3 eps I think. I really wanted to like it but didn't find the script convincing.

I can't imagine new casting. Maybe a little gray and some fake crows feet? They do make the point of how well preserved Claire is all the time. God I hope this series goes the distance.

I just posted the same thing essentially. It's truly baffling to me.

What is the motivation for Starz (and their ilk) to have such a huge delay between seasons, or to break up the season this way? Does it increase ratings somehow? Because I wouldn't think so.

Yes, nice touch. I don't remember if roger actually made an appearance in book 1, but I think not. I'm wondering if they make it to the later books if they'll slap some old person makeup on Claire and Jaime and if that'll work artistically.

I actually gave up on Kitchenaid after I ruined mine with a whole wheat bread recipe. It just wasn't up to the task. I replaced it with a Bosch Universal Plus mixer. It's not perfect, but it can handle big bread recipes no problem. There is also an Ankarsrum (was Electrolux) mixer I considered but didn't get. Just so
