I’m with you on Infinity Gauntlet. It’s totally servicible if you really like large scale superhero dust-ups with not a lot of substance to them. I ramble about it here:

He was actually really cool in the Abnett and Lanning Guardians/Cosmic books, starting with his return in Annihilation: Conquest all the way through Annihilators: Earthfall.

Here’s my hot take:

But which Chris would be which Rider?

James, you’re a good guy and I respect you, but this may be where our opinions must part ways.

Yeah I know you’re being sarcastic but this movie sounds dope. “Mentally unstable sea life”!?

Those are some excellent picks!

Oh snap son. How much more of that do you have fancasted? Who plays Captain Marvel/Shazam? And everyone else!?

(And between you and me, I was hoping he’d be the DCEU Superman and not Britain’s most handsome and least self-aware moron)

Sorry to see that you peaked early Germain. Hoping you stand in some good lines in the future!

I think they’re going to do something like make the villain be a take on Foolkiller or whatever, a D-Lister with lots of guns and no powers.

With Jon Hamm it’s a little different I think. Not because he’s not hilarious- he is- but Hamm is great in everything. Comedy and drama, that dude is crazy talented. The funniest part though, is he had an all time great performance as a dramatic lead, but it’s so clear that really all he wants is to do characters in

Still not Chinese...

I don’t really have a point or an argument here, I’m just bewildered as to what he even meant!

For some reason I was gearing up for you to disagree with me, and I was about to cite that exact line as comedy gold. I just started chuckling just remembering it. Someone needs to make a buddy cop movie with him and Leslie Jones.

I think it has more to do with the painter and their memory of the subject. I don’t think if I painted you, I’d capture a bit of your soul and jack it into a frame, which would be your new prison. I think it’d be more like if I wrote your biography. In a sense you’d live forever, but only the version of you filtered

Now playing

“As I walk through the valley shadowed by Dementors...”

One mechanic of magic that I think often goes undiscussed is the power of enchantments. I think we’re just trained by D&D sensiblities (and the authors who share them) that a magic sword +3 is just a magic sword +3. But the wizard or witch doing the enchanting should have a lot to do with that. We see it a bit with

Regarding point 5: in the second book, the Malfoy’s were making a big stink because a Hippogriff mauled Draco. It was enough to get Hagrid fired. Now I know that the Malfoys are wealthy bullies (and probably big donors) and that there’s all sorts of race and class issues surrounding Hagrid, but I wonder what the other

Jessica hardly has what anyone would call a real “Rogue’s Gallery”. Maybe it would be fun to, instead of leaning heavily on the Daredevil villains (making next season about Nuke and whatnot) they make a hard sell on the Hellcat of it all and have Jessica investigating a shadowy demon mystery. Jessica already has
