Years ago, a friend took me out on his boat to see these at their base. They really are something to see up close. In this photo Hawaii Mars is in the background.

I have the Crystal Lite roof, but it’s on my Delica Space Gear Super Exceed. May or may not be a cooler name than Star Wagon...

+1

Reminds me of a custom Challenger from Edmonton, Alberta in the ‘70s. It was named “Misty Blue”, because it was the ‘70s, of course. Kind of the opposite of subtle...

So yeah, that’s pretty terrible. But how about a 2020 “Supra Mario Kart”?

Excellent news! I’ve only had one yellow car, (so far!) but it never failed to bring a smile, and was impossible to lose in a parking lot. Unrelated to the colour, but with Nokians, it was a beast in the snow. (Was that really twenty years ago??)

I think you underestimate the number of people with more money than taste who are easily amused by burnouts and donuts.

If I had been thinking straight, I could have displayed the clock rather than temperature on the second line, and taken the picture at 12:34... maybe I’ll switch over to miles and try again in a few years. :-)

It’s for real... I paid an unhealthy level of attention to the odometer for the last couple of months :-) ... although my CEL has never been an issue, the light between the speedo and tach is the Dynamic Stability Control indicator.

Took over fourteen years to get there, but I finally managed this a couple of weeks ago... #lifegoals

Anyways, yes. Cars, too, can have identity crises

I had a 150 hp 1.8T Audi A4 in 2001 when the WRX came to Canada. At the time, the S4 had 250 hp, and the new WRX had 227 at about 2/3 the price. So it was an easy upgrade decision. When I got it, I was a bit dismayed at the refinement and materials. It felt like a mid-priced car that was designed by a company

Indeed!

.... or the medium old one :-)

It is pretty fancy (too fancy for me), but Vancouver is a bit crazy that way

We have the exact opposite here in British Columbia. If you’re buying a fancy car (and not really all that fancy, at $150,000 Canadian, equivalent to $114,000 US), you pay federal sales tax of 5%, provincial sales tax of 7%, and a “Luxury Tax” of 13%... so a total of 25% tax on anything over $150,000. https://www.icbc.

So these aren’t supposed to be for sale yet? I wonder if that’s why the one at a local dealer is sporting a “Please do not take photos” sign on the windshield...

The McLaren in this case did indeed have an N sticker!
