Re "MacArthur Fellow Genius Grant": That is not a proper name, so don't capitalize it. The grant is a fellowship. "Genius" is a nickname applied by outsiders. So you should style it like so:

"Universal health care … would undermine the interests of rich people [so] liberals don't care about it."
This liberal does. Careful how you wield that broad brush.

What is this "far left" of which you speak? As someone who lived through the '60s, I can tell you that America once had a far left (and it wasn't pretty), but now, right is the new center.

@Lord Stoneheart, the difference is timing and the transitory nature of euphemism. Phrase A starts out neutral, becomes perjorated over time, and is replaced by Phrase B. Phrase B becomes perjorated over time and is replaced by Phrase C, and so on forever. It's why "Oriental," which literally means "from the east,"

And who will say "I’m not going to keep harping on this…" and mean it.

In my career as a newspaper copy editor I followed AP style, which does not use the Oxford comma. Then I moved to a shop that mostly follows Chicago style, which does. Everyone should have a bomb, of course. Otherwise only outlaws will have bombs. Be a Good Guy with a Bomb!

There are lots of them on Facebook. And they consider all Bernie supporters either monsters or dupes deluded by GOP propaganda.

Strangely, I like your argument while rejecting the premise that "personhood, and thus human rights, begin at conception." Nothing that follows requires that assumption.

Now You 3D Me

Silly error fixed in my post above. (Of course she was a senator when she voted, not secretary of state!)

Yes, very convincing in The Winter Soldier, but I was talking about "Ant Man."

Nugatory.

You wouldn't need a Hitler for there to be anti-Semitism/Fascism in 1930s America.

It used to be that making an old person look young was naturally much more difficult than making a young person look old. But the digital wizardry that the makers of "Ant Man" used to make Michael Douglas look young in flashback was IMO frighteningly realistic, while the old-age makeup they put on Hayley Atwell looked

Swimming with Sharks?

And in "Ironweed."
