Oh Yes They Will

the dealership I work for had a 535d m-sport that i coveted.. it had a fucking WALL of torque at any given moment, didn’t make a terrible racket (in fact the turbo made all sorts of proper noises) and the ride and handling were lovely.

It kind of bothers me that I can’t take one look at this thing and figure out how it does what it does. I’d really like to study it in person.

This is unusual? My last job treated us in a similarly micro-managed-out-the-ass fashion. Everyone monitored, no internet, no cell phones, etc... I figured it for ‘strict but normal, or at least tolerable while they give me paychecks.’ Then I got fired for punching in over 3 mins late one too many times after 3-years,

... implying i’m in control of what my body does when i’m asleep

The ‘08 Audi A8 I drove had a screen that folded into the dash, but it’s small and low quality and so central to everything that the car can do that you’d never want to fold it away anyway. It popping out when you start the car is simply an ‘oooh, ahh” feature.

The range extender option by the way is a 2-stroke motor that runs a generator when the battery level reaches ~5%, iirc. It is not directly connected to the drivetrain, so it’s not a “hybrid” in the traditional (?) sense but does double the admittedly kinda pitiful 80-mile range.

“oh im so jaded, one of the most basic mechanics of video games is so boring and uninteresting to me that i’d rather talk shit about a probably very excellent game than actually play it because it wasnt made with my particularly short sighted tastes in mind”

Pirelli sticker, Dunlop sticker, and Metzeler tires. :|

Some people love those things. Some people also like cutting themselves.

Be still my heart. Anything Lotus faithfully reproduced by hand on paper makes me swoon.

I used gray VHT on my project’s headers and they turned kind of bronze in color. I don’t mind it though, aside from a splash of coolant they still look clean and way better than they used to.

ftw torsen is extremely cool and good

That’s pretty hot. I had a CT-70 for a minute, loved that thing even though it hardly ever wanted to go into 3rd. Bought it for $50, put a new gas tank in it, rode it for 4 years, sold it for $80 and then ~20 years later I’m seeing I could have easily sold it for a grand or so even with its problems. C’est la vie

My goodwill almost routinely has UPSs for like $15 in need of a $20 battery. I’ve refurbished several for less expense than one new one.
