We do produce our own, because the Obama administration greatly improved US oil production and lowered imports. And of what we do import, nearly half that is from Canada. I feel like you’ve been listening to a particular set of politicians a little too much.
Put this motor and manual trans in a Crosstrek and call it a Crosstrek SPT or something sporty, and you’ve got me.
> Ohio as being the heaviest enforcer of traffic laws among states in the entire country.
It’s unfortunately not always that cut and dry. EVERYTHING is hackable given enough time and resources.
I’ve always liked these trucks, and found one for sale for about the same price last year. I thought it was going to be a “shut up and take my money!” purchase, but after test triving it, it actually didn’t put a smile on my face. It was actually disappointing to have not enjoyed driving it. But on paper I still love…
Ah, I missed the statement of “under $20k” on the last line of the original post. I mean at this point “i want to buy any car under $20k” is almost not possible (after you add common options, or buy from dealer inventory), so yeah I agree there. There will never be a new truck under $20k. In my mind I was reasoning…
> “for the price you demand with today’s safety regulations”
Feels about right. Around here in Ohio the Kia dealers are the worst scumbags. They are a mix of the Kia dealers of the late 90's that were just preying on people with no money and bad financial situations by pushing “special credit!” just to give them a car they knew they would reposes and resell in 6 months; and…
While I appreciate that Hyundai’s quality has improved over the last 20 years, I’d never be caught dead in one. Their dealer network remains to be completely toxic. In the late 90's and early 00's they preyed on low-income minorities with “special credit!”
Currently all the scumbag dealerships that used to push the…

I’m still mad that safety testing promotes high belt-lines, tiny windows, and poor visibility in the name of rollover safety which you are unlikely to ever need, over prioritizing actual visibility which you need EVERY TIME you drive.
We need a “visibility” star-rating.
> Oh boy, so its electrical issues are factory?
Of course, that is why the ad says “everything works as expected” ... electrical issues are “as expected” in any VW.
I sold my 2010 Subaru Outback 6-speed manual last month with intent to buy the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek with 30 more HP, since you could buy Crosstreks in a manual still, but they were dog slow... BUT Subaru went and released the higher-HP version in automatic only... so now I will not be buying a 4th Subaru. Now I’ll be…
Because a 2 yr old Jag is already half way through it’s lifespan :)
They call it a “5 year plan”, I call it the “4 more years of Trump” plan.
I really really hate the “the lights at the headlight position are the running lights, and the lights at the high-mounted foglight position are the headlights!” thing. Jeep, Hyundai, and Nissan all love to copy that ugly design element. :cringe:
Feels like the designers didn’t bother to accommodate the front plate, and just zip-tied it in place.
Tech folks are abandoning silicon valley. Thanks to COVID everyone is working from home now, and some people will probably never go back into the office. As tech companies have embraced remote-employees, why stay in the high cost of living centers, when you can make the same money and move somewhere that you can…
My wife and I test drove both, a 2019 Sport hatch and an Si sedan. The Si is noticeably different, even to the passenger. The suspension is tighter, and though the HP numbers aren’t much different, it does feel quicker. We felt the Si was the easy pick for just $2k more.
