My issue with Splatoon is not so much with the game as such, but with the fact that it’s an online multiplayer game made by Nintendo “supported” by Nintendo’s horrible online system.

Personally, I am more annoyed with the instant lock-on and the range ... worst of all though, is the ability to just stack Torbis and therefore heroes. It’s not unbeatable, but boy, it’s a slog to play, and it makes a significant number of heroes downright useless, forcing you to pick a select few, as well as adapting

It depends on the game. This approach certainly did not work for Destiny - not at all - but for Overwatch? I think it works very well indeed for Overwatch, as I consider the kind of worldbuilding they are currently working at, as “icing on the cake”.

This game is really, really good. The first time in ... years I dare say, that I’m really hyped for a competitive FPS game. My only gripe is the lack of hero limits. Today I had to play against four Winstons and a Lucio, which was as annoying as effective in control (though not necessarily unbeatable). Besides the

So, you are saying, Nintendo should be blamed for all of this, because they basically refused to be like every other platform?

No, it’s not, never was and never will. You clearly missed out on the magic that was 4-player local multiplayer - out of the box no less, without any need for a multitap - in games like Golden Eye, but also Perfect Dark, F-Zero, Mario Kart and Diddy Kong Racing, Fifa 98, Star Fox 64, Super Smash Brothers, WWF and a

I hope, I don’t have to point out that most of us German, esp. the online-gaming-kind, does speak English just fine - at least for the purpose of basic communcations ^^

150+ Mio. DS’s and 100+ Mio. Wiis suggest that such a move would have been somewhat premature.

Well, people clearly don’t care for basic math then. The median lifecycle for Nintendo’s homeconsoles is 5 years. The NX doesn’t change anything about that. If it took people 30 years to catch up to that fact ... well, all the more power to them, it’s never to late to learn to count (or write and read ^^).

While you might say that Dark Souls is an RPG, and while that would technically be true, it is a poor substitute for the actual game design. I mean, there is a reason people call them Souls(-like,-esque,-inspired or whatever) games. Souls games, at least the good ones, are not themepark rides in terms of their basic

I gotta agree, I did not even notice it all myself, esp. since basically all the stuff was Monarch branded on the outside anyways, and as you say, if they have to use phones - which they had to - why not use Microsoft ones?

Edit/ The fact that despite like 2 years of controversy, there is no demo available for people to test out the controls for themselves, is frankly dishonest and borderline offensive to me. They KNOW people are worried about it, they KNOW testers had issues with it all along, but still, they cannot be bothered to give

*getting out the broad brush* Just goes to show once more that people are just the worst.

Interesting, thanks for the clarification. I guess that makes sense at least, though it does only really work for this specific “naming”-instance.

It does sound interesting indeed, and I intend to take a look, esp. since apparently Netflix is involved, which these days bodes pretty well.

In the case of “Schwarzes Marken”? (Haven’t seen the anime yet ...).

“Schwarzes Marken” makes no sense in German, grammatically speaking. Then again, neither did “Blassreiter” ... I do wonder if that is intentional/ “artistic” or not.

Once more people adopt that “what the ... why is this game more than $4.99??”-mindset born out of the Appstore, I forsee some major issues for many developers =/

“Conquest also doesn’t let you grind—which means that every kill you make is significant. Relying on your toughest fighters might seem like the obvious measure here, except every time you do, you’re actively putting weaker units at an even bigger disadvantage, because they won’t earn XP and level up. It’s actually

Well, I think the most obvious recent comparison, and thus source of expectation, is probably Devil Survivor and it’s 3DS remasters. I agree the messaging on this was bad, and mostly even nonexistent, or at best, very indirect.
