The key to a healthy smoothie is to avoid fruit juice. Fruit juices have too much sugar and not enough fiber. It’s better to add real fruit and water than liquid sugar.
Err, what if they consist mainly of leafy greens, beets, peanut butter/yogurt with just a small amount of blueberries? Does the proces of blending somehow make sugar appear from leafy greens?

I’ve heard this concern raised over juicing, since it removes the fiber that regulates the rate at which the sugar hits your bloodstream. That’s not an issue with smoothies, which keep the fiber.
That entirely depends on what you put in the smoothie.
