Ah, that was a bad assumption on my part then. I figured they crowdfunded the second too.

In October of 2015, they was reported that PoE had sold over 500k copies. The game still costs $45 today. At $45 a pop that’s 22.5 million dollars. Part of that went to Steam/GOG of course for distribution fees. But even if all their fees/expenses ate half of that, which it didn’t, you are looking at 11 million…

I’ll buy it on release day, no question. I contributed to the first KS. By all accounts the first game was successful, not going to help fund the second one. Same with Banner Saga 3. Nothing against the devs, both are great. But it just doesn’t sit right with me crowd funding game after game like that.
