Seems like fire departments need to find new methods for fighting EV battery fires, or really any kind of Lithium Ion battery fire, including Scooters & E-Bikes or storage systems like the Powerwall.

Yep I’ve had my Bolt for just about 5 years now and I’ve used a commercial charger less than 10 times EVER.
Obviously, which is why I suspect these people picked the most expensive electricity prices they could find, then picked the cheapest gas prices they could find, or if we’re lucky picked one isolated market that happened to have very high electricity costs and low gas prices. Then they added in a bunch of bogus…
I live in California. Even at Costco (always one of the cheapest and frequently the cheapest gas around) the price is $4.09/gal today.
Ridiculous, they must have cherry picked their data points.
EVERY EV should include a heat pump.
As an EV (Chevy Bolt) driver and Manual aficionado I think a manual transmission on an EV is dumb. It ads a lot of complication partially negates one of the chief advantages of an EV (a very simple drivetrain with relatively few moving parts and not much to go wrong).
For all that I am frequently critical of today’s police forces I don’t agree. If the registered owner reports a vehicle stolen that should be enough.
I really feel like “the computer said this car hasn’t been returned” shouldn’t be a valid defense here.
I’ve been saying since this scandal broke that what needs to happen is to CRIMINALLY PROSECUTE employees that make false police reports.
Most new EVs have a >200 mile range. I wonder how many rideshare drivers exceed 200 miles in a typical day.
That’s a fair point though I don’t agree that it would be even more misleading than what I speculated CBS did.
A rich and famous guy... with a neck tattoo.. cheating on their S/O?
I would love to see the methodology that CBS used to come up with an _average price_ of $60,000 for EVs.
Not sure what’s going on with the data but the price of the Chevy Bolt actually went DOWN by ~$6000.
Reminds me of how this flying turd was originally supposed to offer two different engine options to protect from this kind of weakness but it was cut along with most of the rest of it’s originally promised capabilities citing “cost concerns” while the cost of the plane spiraled out of control.
The hard core MAGAts who were never going to support Biden no matter what are pitching a fit over this. Won’t change one single vote.
Long lines? GTFO with that nonsense.
I doubt that even rural carriers routinely drive >200 miles in a day.
I would expect that well over 95% of all USPS mail routes would be ideal for an EV.
