Actually it’s ~3% of Americans who own ~50% of the guns. Since an estimated 25%-30% of Americans own at least guns that means that (roughly) 10% of gun owners own 50% of the guns.

My point is that you would need to use the Army as well as the police to operate any kind of gun confiscation program. You’d literally need to send heavily armed troops on a house to house search of every home in the country and yes I believe that enough of those gun owners would resist that you’d see a six figure…

I will agree that there are an increasing number of guns in a decreasing number of gun owners hands and it’s true that roughly half of the guns are in the hands of about 3% of Americans but an estimated 25%-30% of Americans own at least one gun.
