“Upon learning after giving the interview that the movie was actually a comedy intended to mock the Holocaust and Jewish culture, Ms. Evans was horrified and upset.”
Motor vehicle crashes accounted for almost half of the 22,411 fatal injuries among children in the United States (Table 1); a substantial proportion (an estimated 15%-30%) of these deaths were associated with alcohol use (3). Of all motor vehicle-related fatalities, 70% occurred among motor vehicle occupants, and 17%,…
Slightly crooked nose from my face breaking the windshield of a 1967 Mercury Cougar XR7. I was 4. That was a nice car, too.
Shit, I’m 37 and pretty positive that ‘walk off getting your bell rung’ attitudes in sports as a kid / teenager have had an impact on my cognition.
Sounds more like the “bad old days” to me. I don’t understand the boomer obsession with those.
“Many have also pointed out before that even though things were less safe in the past, kids coped with it by learning how to protect themselves.”
I’m thinking you & Ayn have discussed this before Mr. Rand
Remember, all us old farts responding here lived through the “good old days.” I’ll wager there isn’t a single reply from anyone ejected into oncoming traffic/trees, impaled by the steering wheel/random sheet metal, or rolled over by the car your made a dozen rotations in.
^ confirmation bias, ladies and gentlemen
US style outlets are pretty damn iffy from a safety standpoint, yeah. They’re very compact, which is useful on the back of say, an UPS, or on a power strip, because you can easily fit a lot of them, but that they expose live contact blades if partially unplugged is fucking terrible design really.
While I understand the sentiment, that was 30 years ago. When this car came out, I doubt you'd question antique tags on a MY 1960 car, no matter how pedestrian it was.
...challenges the idea that EVs have to compete directly with ICE vehicles in terms of range.
Not to be pedantic, but a truck won’t get that mileage while having a 1700# payload and towing 9000# either.
It’s not just about gas mileage, but you’re still only partially correct and it’s highly vehicle dependent.
Going up 10 MPG in 50 years doesn’t sound like much of an improvement to me. Going up 40+ MPG in 50 years on cars though; that is definitely noteworthy. Even just 10 years ago, cars were only getting 20s and 30s for MPG. It’s amazing what happened this past decade.
Can you point to the place on the doll where the sedan touched you?
A study found that boomers actually are whiny babies.
I’m wondering why he hasn’t been dumped off the back of a boat somewhere far from shore. I guess they’re just waiting for him to kill some people before they do something minimal about this loser.
