All cars orbit the sun.
It all depends on your frame of reference. Every car on Earth is racking up 1.6 million miles every day as if you use the sun as reference. If you measure based on the galactic central point, it’s more like 12 million miles a day.
It’s not just vaginas! There was a bodybuilder in my dorm when I was in college who basically only ate meat as part of some weird 0% body fat diet. He was stunningly gorgeous, intelligent, and charming. He got tons of one-night stand tail but could never hold down a girlfriend. Why? It was openly discussed (behind his…
In the small case studies that have been done, UBI doesn’t appear to reduce the drive to work and be productive. The theory of the economists who support it, is that it increases job mobility which increases the value of labor. A flat UBI for all citizens would also disproportionately help the communities that need it…
Individual action won’t solve systemic problems.
You are very incorrect about wages. Programmers/engineers are NOT generally paid well. Most people doing most of the legwork for games are not paid well at all. Any decent engineer I know is someone who knows to steer well clear of the games industry if they want to make money.
I’m fine with automation being used when and where it works well (fast food kiosks are not one of these places, wash your hands people).

Ha, that is a laugh. I’m in CA right now and next week I’m being forced to attend a union busting meeting from corporate.
Nope.
I’ve worked in IT in your standard smallish-medium company. Spent years there, company got bought out by a larger company, unpaid over time, forced hours, forced on call with almost zero compensation, 0-0.5% raises as the bosses are having staff meetings talking about their latest company they bought, etc etc etc.
I hope people read this and take action in their industry. It’s meaningful. There is so much reason why everything has gone to such shit with employment and benefits since Reagan came in and targeted the unions, public education and health care among other things.
I’ve seen some sentiments that would like the answer that most important question of “What do you get?” with a hollow “they get to make amazing games”...and yeah, sure, that’s certainly a perk. This person gets to take pride in the fact that they worked on the massively successful and critically acclaimed ______!

I’ve worked in a union job. It wasn’t perfect. But when I got sick I was able to take paid time off. I had great vacation benefits, and even now that I’ve left, I’ve got an awesome pension that will be there for me in my old age.
